Whenever I try to access the “Player ID” menu, the game menu disappears and forces me to close the game. It’s frustrating on top of not being able to customize anything.
Any simple fixes? I’ve already tried deleting MCC and reinstalling

This has happened to me without fail since the early days. It seems to happen whenever I have acquired a new nameplate/emblem/other and try to go see it. After forcefully shutting down MCC and starting it again things mostly work. Just today I had to restart the game three times in a row.
I cannot comment on which emblems or nameplates are more suspect, as there’s no easy way to tell which ones are actually new and the system is designed to hide the reason you got … well, anything.
So press the guide (xbox-button on controller), select MCC and press menu-button to quit it. Then start the game and try to access the “Player ID” menu. If there’s still trouble, repeat ad nauseam. I think you can skip the starting animations by mashing a button, but who knows with this game. Maybe it needs to start all by itself for five minutes or something to load up all nameplates.
