With the new Halo 3/Reach cosmetics arriving with Season 8, I find myself worried. It does NOT look like Halo Armor, but luckily, MCC has a toggle option for people like me.
But my question (And concern.) is:
Will Armor like that be in Infinite?
Because I just got my beloved HW2 art style back, and I can GUARANTY you that Infinite will not have a toggle. And if I see a Plague Doctor running around in Infinite, I think that might be the last straw.
I look at MCC as a test bed for Infinite. They’re able to test the waters a little bit on MCC to haulage reactions and boundaries.
Halo Infinite will have “fractures” that feature non lord armour such as the Yoroi samurai armour we saw in the multiplayer reveal trailer.
Armour that is a bit out there is going to exist over time for sure but end of the day as long as they’re not going too far off the rails I’m not really that bothered by it.
Other players customisation choices doesn’t really effect my gameplay experience all that much, I’ll be able to enjoy the game regardless.
I wouldn’t pay £3 for an EVA helmet, but I would spend £3 on a Knights helmet. Most the armour is too generic for me personally. It’s cool to customise your Spartan in Halo 5 with so many options, but if I’m paying for it I want it to be something much different.

ye there making master chief where a plague doctor mask. but in all seriousness to the OP I know you don’t like it and your not alone but criticizing a multiplayer cosmetic is probably not going to make 343 drop them. as for the the toggle there might be a toggle but that might remove you ability to customize your kit too.

I don’t like it, and I won’t wear it. But if it these Armor pieces come to Infinite, (Which again, won’t have a toggle option.) I’ll still have to see them. So the art style is still messed up for me.

The game is suppose to be fun first and foremost. I’m guilty of losing a “fun view” when I played relatively competitively in Halo 2/3 back in the day. It’s just bizarre it bothers people so much. I would understand if it changes hitboxes.

What’s that mean? That because I don’t think thar funky stuff fits in Halo, I have the wrong opinion?
I guess these days I’m part of a increasingly small minority, because I really prefer having at least some adherence to a cohesive style. I’m tired of shooters starting out with a serious aesthetic only to largely discard it within a couple of months for money. People go “muh immersion” but I just genuinely love immersive games.
Honestly, I’d love a toggle for Fracture armors. Short and sweet. That way you get a choice to just stick to canon armor, or you can see all 100% goofy and canon.
I wouldn’t mind having a select few of the hats from the MCC flight in Infinite. (That one with the huge fan on top was sick.) But at the end of the day? It’s just armor.
