MC and Locke fight

I want to know your thoughts on the MC and Locke fight. To me, it was okay. Was it just me, or did their movements seem slow (even thought they’re supposed to have 5x better reflexes… WITHOUT THE ARMOR)? They could have had Locke provoke chief a little more; like when chief was walking away, Locke could’ve shot him once and then said his original line. Also, chief should’ve beat him up unless Locke used more of his upgraded Spartan abilities, which he didn’t, except for one thruster. But other than that, it was good. They had the music that really fit in with the fight and I’m still glad chief won in the end. What are your thoughts on the fight?

I knew a fight between the two Spartans was coming in game, but I was expecting it to be either a bit longer, or an actual mini boss battle. That would’ve been AMAZING. Still for the fight we got, it was alright. I truthfully was hoping the fight would be a bit more acrobatic, sort of like we saw at the beginning with Osiris, a few more flips, kicks and dodges. I’m a little disappointing Lockes’ team didn’t back him up! They were there to detain and retrieve Blue Team… and they just stood there and let Locke fight Master Chief alone? Seems silly to me, but it was nice to see HOW the Chiefs visor gets cracked in the game. But for what it was its alright.

It was soooo absolutely epic for me ! And it is still so epic lol

Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge letdown. The fight itself was pretty cool, but the way they played out the trailers I was expecting wayyyy more. The game sucks anyways.

That was one of my favorite Halo cutscenes

Terrible. I agree. The were so slow and so obviously choreographed. Can’t believe thats the best they could think up especially with motion capture, etc. They didn’t even really use the thruster ability either.

I liked it, though they seemed to be moving a bit slow for Spartans.

Knowing the lore behind the Spartans, I can garentee you all that they seemed to move slow for OUR benefit. If they had been moving at their true speed, WE wouldn’t have been able to see/keep up with their movements. Its just how fast the Spartans are. 343 had to physcially slow the fight down so we could see it properly. However my previous post still stands true, I do wish it could’ve been a bit longer, and a bit more acrobatic. Would’ve made for a FAR more interesting fight!

I have an idea, for those of you who think the fight sucked, type your own in the comments here and lets see how creative the fanbase can REALLY get? Huh? Who’s up for the challenge?

Chief turns around and grabs Locke’s rifle right out of his hand before Locke even knows what’s happening. I’d say that’s pretty super human, I don’t think a real human could pull that off reliably. Kind of a minor thing though.

Personally I liked it, was one of my favourite cutscenes.

Only thing I thought was a bit weird was Chief and Locke being about the same height. Surely someone that was genetically modified before they even finished growing, would be a lot taller, no? I thought he was supposed to be 7ft or something.

Expected more fights between them…

Maybe they should have taken a page out of Red vs Blue for the fight scenes. Some of the Tex and Carolina fights are awesome.

Terrible. It looked like a bar fight more than trained soldiers, let alone the best soldiers in humanity’s history.

They’re 1000 pound tanks lol. Also, I thought their fight was badass! I just wish Blue Team would’ve fought with Osiris in some form.

MC should’ve kicked Lockes -Yoink- so it was garbage. Locke wouldn’t have even got a punch into Master Chief let alone actually look like he was winning the fight towards the end. Master Chief is a boss and it made him look weak.

It was all right but a tad disappointing. It looked great and felt very “real” with the sound design and animation. That being said, it should have been way better. These are the best and most powerful warriors humanity has to offer and they have a slug fest? Where were the feats of strength? The speed? The boost ability? They should have been throwing each other across the room then boost punching them into a wall.

Also, Chief should have wrecked Locke. Chief was trained from the age of 5, a 30 year veteran of non stop combat missions, and Spartan II. Locke is just some former ONI hitman who got the lesser Spartan 4 upgrades, there is no way he should have been going toe to toe with “the Demon”. If they wanted to make it even, it should have been all of team Osiris taking on Chief solo.

This is off topic, but how in the hell did Vale ever become a Spartan 4? In the “Hunter in the Dark” novel she was just some scientist who spoke Sangheli, no combat experience or training whatsoever. Now she is some elite Spartan 4 after only a couple of years? Bull crap.

Chief is actually on the smaller side for a Spartan 2. He is just over 7 in his armor I think , out he is about 6’10? I agree that the cannon says Spartan 2 augments were for more intrusive than other programs but we don’t know the specifics at this point of this particular batch of Spartans , so it is hard to say. But , I agree thought the Spartans on Osiris were much larger than they should have been. Also when did Palmer become such a monster? (physically).

This has been my argument against sprint ever since Reach. They are always moving at top speed , but , could you imagine trying to shoot at a spartan moving at 60 km an hour? The original games (C.E. , 2 , & 3) all were based on this mechanic.

I think the only reason they added sprinting to the Halo series is because games like CoD and Battlefield put it into their games first and then people complained that it wasn’t in Halo.

Fight was dope. Chief used to killing enemies so he had to hold back to not kill Locke. Awesome how Chief locked Locke up.
