Maybe the problem isnt Infinity OR Pro

Maybe the problem is the lack of a Third Option that is somewhere in between.

Is there anyway to combine the gametypes into a third setting that both could play happily?

Like:
Placed weapons, no loadouts, but Personal Ordnance

or

Random weapons, no loadouts but PO

or

Placed weapons, Loadouts and No PO

Is there somewhere inbetween that would add a third gametype to the Slayer playlists that would give us an option where we are not at each others throats constantly over this topic?

Having 3 gametypes in a playlist is never a good idea. It makes it so that if your gametype is last on the line up, it will almost never get voted in.

Entirely not the point. Also that has to do with Halo 4’s crappy voting system, not the topic at hand, which is to find a middle ground gametype in the same playlist.

Which you completely ignored.

This “Legendary Slayer” they’ve hinted at but refuse to discuss is rumored to be a medium between Infinity and Pro, but it’s anyone’s guess exactly what it will be.

Everybody is so snappy today.

A “third option” cannot eist for multiple reasons.

First of all, “Infinity” and “Pro” were made to be completely different. Combining them does nothing but dumb down Pro or make Infinity more difficult. The way I look at it is Infinity is Social Slayer and Pro is Ranked. You wouldn’t want to mix the gametypes because it will cause the social players to interact to often with the ranked players. Which isn’t fun for anyone.

Secondly, why must we combine them? They both work in their own right for what they should be. There is nothing wrong (from an unbiased standpoint) with either, and mixing them could ruin that balance.

Thirdly, this will only piss of competitive players, and make casuals happy, not do any work towards keeping both groups happy, and cause a bigger gap in the community.

Off topic, the community will never be fully together, but we shouldn’t be pushing it farther apart regardless.

Back OT: Mixing two playlists designed to be different completely defeats the purpose of having 2 playlists to make people happy.

There, you’ve finally proven why Infinity and Pro should not be in the same playlist, congrats.

Firstly, there is a game-type that is/was supposedly a middle ground between Infinity and Throwdown called Legendary Slayer.

> There, you’ve finally proven why Infinity and Pro should not be in the same playlist, congrats.

Legendary Slayer is a hybrid between Throwdown and Infinity. Slayer Pro is a more basic, less random version of Infinity. Slayer Pro should be in its own playlist but due to the nature of Halo 4’s population, dividing the population any further will make finding games with good connection a great deal more difficult.

Slayer Pro at release was pretty bad, it needed refining and from what I have heard it is better than what it was. Unfortunately the game and its population has been damaged far too greatly to separate Slayer Pro from Infinity.

I don’t like the sound of Legendary Slayer, so naturally I don’t like the sound of any hybrid between Throwdown and Infinity. If anything, we need a classic playlist.

There’s Throwdown.

Or…

Maybe there is no problem.

Yeah, except for the influx of hate filled threads, utter contempt for Casuals and Infinity settings in people’s posts, and the disgusting turn this forum is taking.

I’m honestly having a hard time reading alot of it, because everyone is -Yoink!- me off.

I agree infinity and pro should not be in the same playlist too much animosity between the sides and they are entirely different playstyles. But combining them will please no one, I dont wanna play a hybrid between pro and infinity I want to play pro.

But at this stage a separate playlist for pro only will only harm both pro and infinity. It will create longer search times and lag. The population in this game is far to low to warrant the insane number of playlists. Some people dont seem to realize that if pro is removed from infinity it will lead to more problems.

Yea people are mad because they only want to play infinity, people are mad because they only want to play pro. But we have to deal with it, the population cannot support another playlist, which is why soon there will be a playlist consolidation.

By making this thread you really didn’t help anything but instead “piss” people off. There is relatively no benefit from discussing what has been discussed countless time on the waypoint forums in multiple forum topics.I guess you could say it’s like beating a dead horse, which is pointless except for self-gratification.

Think about the position 343 is in, yes they put themselves in it, but they are trying their best to fix everything they can.Sadly they were forced to mix the 2 together simply because of the lack of population, because as it is now making a Pro playlist would prove pointless.By pointless i mean that the population simply won’t sustain itself enough to benefit.

I could go on and on but just go read the 50 other threads that discuss the exact same thing you are trying to discuss but have done it.

Side note:Legendary Slayer is being made right now which is what you are more or less asking for anyways. So leave it at that and wait, because i’m sure more hate threads will discuss the problems with Legendary Slayer anyways.Ah and just wait when June 3’rd hits, this forum will explode with 50 threads that all discuss the same thing.

What did you expect really? Hardly anyone likes casuals, unless you are a casual that is. Halo 4 was designed for casuals although the game has had a long standing history of appealing to both sides but at the same time being competitive enough to carry MLG.

The gaming industry is trying to make itself more casual friendly (Xbox One being an excellent example), and in doing so it is destroying the market. Games like Halo 3 were successful with both crowds, so why did Halo 4 have to completely cater to casuals and those newer to the franchise?

Hate filled threads have been here for ages, and thinking that it will change is incredibly naive considering it is an internet forum.

I think they should ditch both the current Infinity settings and Pro settings and just do placed weapons, loadouts and no Personal Ordnance as their main settings

First: There aren’t TWO playlists. They both exist in the same playlist. Your objection to ranked and casual palyers mixing makes no sense since the gametypes EXIST IN THE SAME PLAYLIST! Which is why people have been complaining. The ranked players are made because the casuals vote for infinity and the casuals are mad at the ranked for voting pro.

Second: What balance does pro bring to the table? Motion trackers disabled bring a crawl to the game. I have never played a Pro game that ended before time ran out. I have never played an infinity game that didn’t end after five minutes. We need to mix them to increase game speed while giving us a fulfilling game experience. A best of both worlds option.

Thrid: Everyone is pissed at the current settings for both game variants. And finding a game takes way too long as it is. What gap is there to worry about? Everyone wants to close the gap anyway since all find problems with everything.

Back OT: There aren’t two playlists. What were you thinking?
