Maybe The Ancient Evil is an AI?

Maybe the ancient evil is an AI like cortana but then it went rampant and started attacking stuff and is controlling the Prometheans to fight for it idk though. You can talk about it.

replying to myself lolz. :*(

Its possible but I doubt it in all honesty. My money is still on the Didact, an if not him a promethian or something.

> Its possible but I doubt it in all honesty. My money is still on the Didact, an if not him a promethian or something.

A super promethean is what ur saying!?

My personal thought is that the Didact will work with the humans, maybe after a little fight to make sure that we can be worthy allies, and that medicant bias may be working with another forerunner or possibly precursor against the humans. I also believe that the arbiter will show up at some point with his own fleet (or one of his commanders) to combat the separatist fleet. I cant believe that he would ever turn against the humans after what he and the chief fought through together

edit: remember that the Didact did have some respect for the humans especially after meeting with Chakas and Riser, but there were many other forerunners who simply wanted the humans eradicated, and also remember that Medicant Bias was split into many pieces and one may be located on Requiem.

I never thought about Rtas 'Vaduum (half jaw) appearing but now that I think about it it is very possible, if not more possible than the Aribiter showing up

Well one of them has to show up and not look like the gone to crap bad elites

I would love for Half Jaw to return to the series. He was rather ignored, cept for the infinite succor comic.

In terms of AI, who is a Forunner AI we never learned much of? Offensive Bias. A military AI of his caliber would pose a great threat. I have a theory that he has gone rampant and was corrupted by the parts of Mendicant Bias that he was studying. Similar to Mendicant and the flood. Perhaps over time he grew to see the humans as a threat similar to the flood that needs to be irradicated.

It’s all conjecture and a stupid one at that in my opinion. It’s your opinion if you think it’s a good idea or not.

Judging by the books, it looks like Arbiter has his hands full back home.

Maybe it could be offensive Bias gone rampant or some other AI we never heard of.

I dont think he would go rampant and help the flood cause because he was designed specifically to counter Mendicant Bias and was given no real free will to make his own decisions that would do anything outside of what his mission was. So I doubt we will run into him in any large way because humans were never the threat to him or the mission and neither were the flood, because his only goal was to counter Mendcant Bias as he tried to eradicate the forerunners

Well Mendicant Bias is good now and seeking redemption, so it’s not him.

I think the Ancient Evil is the Precursors. Forerunners don’t make sense as an enemy, but all the hints to the Didact are so odd…

It’s gotta be Precursors. The Didact just isn’t evil and I can’t see an AI being the ancient evil either.

It’s the Didact. It’s the Didact. It’s the Didact. The symbol is the Didact. The Didact controls the Prometheans. You fight Promtheans. There’s even a terminal in Anniversary where Spark basically announces it in the least subtle way: “GEE MAN IT WOULD SURE SUCK FOR MASTER CHIEF TO FIGHT THE DIDACT, THAT DUDE IS BAD -Yoink-. THE DIDACT WOULD MAKE THE FLOOD LOOK WEAK AND HEY DID I SAY THIS WOULD BE A TOUGH ENEMY FOR MASTER CHIEF WITH HIS ARMY OF PROMETHEANS WHICH DEFINITELY ARENT THE ENEMY IN HALO 4 BUT ANYWAY…”

Have you read any of the Forerunner Saga novels?

Misread title as “an AR”… got excited for nothing.

No but I basically know the entirety of the story from reading the forums. Did I say something wrong?

Obviously not. If you did, you would know that the original Didact does not hate humans. He even felt remorseful for “Composing” them into imprints after the Forerunner-Human War, more so when he learned of the Flood. The next Didact, Bornsteller Makes Eternal Lasting, even had two close human friends.

Not to mention, 343 Guilty Spark is one of many fragments of Chakas after he was turned into a Monitor to safeguard the human spirits, one of said friends. Trying to use Guilty Spark as a reliable source is sketchy as he says many things in the Terminals that are wrong. And your paraphrasing of what Spark said is laughably bad. Spark was pissed that his ring was under siege and would love for the Didact and his warriors to impose order. However, there is a reason the Halos were used, because the Didact and his warriors FAILED to make a difference themselves and thus were forced to kill every sentient being.

The Didact knows full well of the Precursors and their connection to the Flood and killing humans WON’T do a damn thing. Scream about the symbol all you want, but the fact it looks different than the traditional Didact symbol and turns upside down means something is amiss and it would seem that blew right past your train of thought.
