Maybe its time for you to simply walk away

Most game franchises go through changes until they lose something that someone loved about it. Many are saying the same about Halo as Danny O’Dwyer is saying about Assassins Creed.

I think his ending is the most sensible statement ever; if a franchise has changed to the point you don’t like it, stop getting frustrated, accept it’s no longer the game for you and simply walk away

Halo holds too many memories for me to walk away. I won’t but Halo 5. That will be my equivalent to walking away. But I won’t leave the community. I’ll continue to be vocal about the changes until things go back to the way they used to be, what is in my opinion the way they should be.

Nailed it for me as well

They won’t go back…

And if that never happens? I think that’s Danny’s point, walking away means not worrying about any changes. Also, the changes may have brought in new fans so going back may do more harm than good

Ok well lets just play the same game every year cod style that sounds grate. halo 5 changes are fine mgsv did the same type of thing and people still love it. playing the same thing over and over agian gets kinda boring its just the same thing with different skins and new guns. this is the future of halo and change is ok

If they simply added more and more maps, I’d still be playing Halo CE, H2 or H3.

Please walk away, the forums are toxic since launch

So why not just stick to those games and let those who are enjoying the changes enjoy them in the new Halo game?

People would rather cry that the game doesn’t cater to their personal Taste/playstyle than move on unfortunately for the rest of us.

I did not buy H5 at launch. Not because I don’t like the changes, but because of the nightmare that I went through with TMCC. In fact I am VERY excited to check out Warzone. It has basically everything I have ever asked for all in 1 mode. Bots, JIP, AFK players get kicked, no team killing, bigger maps, 24 players. Really everything I asked for. But again, TMCC has destroyed 343’s credibility for me. I wont ever but another Halo title at launch. From this point on I will give them at least a week to work out major launch bugs. I am planning to at least rent H5 next Friday the 6th through the weekend to check it out. If most of the bugs are worked out by then and I am happy with the game, I will buy it. Keep in mind I like sprint, and the jet packs, and everything in the game. I enjoyed most of the beta. So the features I like, the lack of reliability with TMCC I hated.

Such a shame because Halo was ALWAYS my go to multiplayer experience. Went to almost every single midnight launch besides ODST and H5. Shame I have indeed basically moved on from this series after TMCC. So basically if the rental does not go well, then it will be me walking away. And trust me I am a very patient person that does not ever usually walk away from anything, but I am very close.

There is no such problem on the scale of the MCC the only annoying thing is REQ packs which only seem to contain Ghosts and mongooses for everyone. The whole certification thing is a pain in the -yoink-. Everything else about the game is awesome

I’d argue, maybe it’s time for 343 to just walk away. They already ran two Halo games into the ground and the third one is currently on its way there…

But the thing is, it isn’t going back to what it was. That is the point of this post. To have people realize that if they don’t agree with the direction of Halo, which arguably dates back to Halo Reach! Then it is time for you to move on. Your suggestions don’t align with the franchise anymore. That is for anything in life though at this point. Not just games, but anything! If you see your changes are happening and the game is evolving differently then it is time to pack it up and move along.

As long as I’ve still got fight left in me, I wont give up on helping to steer this series back on course.

There comes a point for every game/movie/band/whatever when you have to sit back, evaluate the circumstances, and come to the conclusion that you’d let it die if you ever really loved it. I thought that point had come for me with Halo 4, but Halo 5 is pretty fun so far. Then again, I enjoyed Reach up to this point after its release, and look how that one turned out.

Were it so easy…
