maybe if you humbled yourself...

you would enjoy halo 5 more?

i feel like with this heavy focus on E-sports, halo 5 feels far more competitive then it ever has. (i wasn’t into games when halo 2 was a thing so maybe back then it was even more competitive idk? ) and the popularity of twitch and access to “pro” players has been easier then ever. rather it be through their own streams, or tournaments.

you watch these players, and try to mimic what they do, as if you are that player, but you’re not.

of course the above does not apply to everyone that “hates” halo 5. but for the players it does apply too. accept your current limitations of skill, and work to get better without flaming the game, or your team-mates, it’s legitimately not good for your health, and i bet you will actually see that, halo 5, from a gameplay/gunplay standpoint is not a bad game, or even a bad “halo” game. if you took a step back, and just enjoyed the each match good or bad. it’s good to have confidence, but over confidence leads to bruised ego’s (and broken controllers).

for reference, played a btb match of strongholds, one player went 30 and like 10. but finished like 5th on the team, every 2 minutes (this isn’t even an exaggeration) he would complain about how his own team sucked for not being able to slay like him, in an objective game type.

t. the game is competitive, but YOU don’t have to be, if it stresses you out. yes there are players better then you, yes you will get dunked on repeatedly, the sooner you accept that, the sooner you will enjoy the game.

Pre edit: yes my K.D is below 1 NOW, but when pre-season/season 1 was a thing, it was 1.15, you i have been on both sides of the ratio (not that should matter, but i know there are some stat trackers) i did not like the way, having a postive K/D felt, so i just started to play, and since then i have been enjoying this game alot. did my K/D suffer? yeah, but my enjoyment level went up

People actually hate the game because they’re not as good as the Esports players? That seems like a rather silly thing to blame the game on. I don’t give a damn about this HCS stuff and I still think the game is poor just for the lack of content and 343’s design decisions alone.

Yes and when they made a social playlist to play for fun not for competitive skill.

it is a silly thing, but it happens, again as i should have made more clear, " this does not apply to everyone" you are part of that, i am very aware of the lack of content issue. that is not what this post was about, again i apologize for not making that more clear, this is for the people who rage for 10 minutes a game even though they put up decent 9-5’s etc etc.

I think that Halo 5’s gameplay is sound, even great. The issue for me is that it’s geared too much towards the competitive scene. The radar is really small, promoting constant communication between teammates.

If there were social settings with a larger radar (25m), then I think it would be far more enjoyable for many people. Not only would it allow people to succeed without as much communication, but it would also render Spartan Charge less viable, since you could see the enemy coming from further away.

I just play video games man. I could not give any less of a -Yoink- about e-sports.
