As many of you may know Bungie has reveiled their next game destiny. These are the guys who created halo and caused a revolution for all shooters. I think they are ready to revolutionise video games again. After watching their new vidoc it occurd to me that bungie have always been the ones who make the great games, I was very skeptical on halo 4 and I still am and now I just think maybe bungie were right to stop at halo: reach and leave halo 3 where it ended and just move on with another game.
I actually thought the same thing, if 343 keeps going down this path, Destiny might become the new Halo
Halo is still in ny opinion the best FPS despite all my qualms with Halo 4. So if Destiny kills Halo, it will kill all other FPS.
Halo CE to 3 is eternal. The pinnacle of evolution and existence. Before us, Halo 4 is nothing. It’s extinction is inevitable.
Yeah, I think Destiny will blow everything out of the water. 343 needs to step their game up if they want to stay in the competition. I understand that they’re under a lot of pressure, but they really need to work hard to get Halo to comeback.
I think that Destiny will become the new “Halo”, however. I think.

Halo 5 comes out;
Halo CE to 4 is eternal. The pinnable of evolution and existence. Before us, Halo 5 is nothing. Its extinction is inevitable.

Yeah… no. Halo 4 doesn’t fit in that list of being eternal, try again.

What a ridiculous statement. We know next to nothing about the gameplay and how it works. For all we know, it could end up being worse than Halo.
Have u seen the work done on destiny so far??? If it turns out as good as it sounds, plus the addition of the nex xbox console later this year I doubt anyone interested in FPS will be playing much of anything else.

Believe me, in three and a half years, it will. Nobody is going to take you seriously when with every new Halo game people are crying out to the sky: HALO IS DEEEEAAAD! This shlock is nothing new. It’s just a matter of change and getting used to it.
Try again, big boy.
Hmm… New IP, a New way to Innovate, to create something new full of wonders & exploration, a new story to tell… This Is why most of the Great new IPS are considered ‘‘MasterPieces’’ because they bring something new & fresh to gaming.
So Destiny has a lot of opportunity to blow Halo. but I don’t think so, I don’t even think that Bungie will surpasse Its own creation.
343 Has the job to ‘‘Innovate’’ Halo, If they do It, fans are crying all over the forums, If they stay the same, Fans will say they’re paying for the same game. Halo had everything, All kind of maps, situations, exploration, epic battles, story, soundtrack, competitive multiplayer, etc… there’s almost no way to INNOVATE or bring something fresh without changing the formula
No. I think we’re just getting started.
Destiny isn’t going to have a Halo feel, it’s a class-based shooter. It’s going to be a very team-based, being a lone wolf is going to get you killed. Example of a class-based shooter is Battlefield. I love Halo over Battlefield, but Destiny looks like Halo lore, with Battlefield mechanics. Count me in.
So tired… of these threads.
First off Destiny is Persistent real time MMO, RPG, FPS whatever…it looks to be it all. To me it appears as a blend of EVE online, Borderlands, Dust 514, and Reach. It’ll have classes and space ships. Three are already confirmed. Titan(Tank), Hunter(Rogue), and Warlock(Spellcaster). You’ll have to have online connection and they won’t charge for you to play it other than the initial retail cost of buying the game. Unfortunately you’ll be paying fifty a year with Microsoft in order to do this if XBL remains a pay as you go feature for the next gen console.
So that means PS3 becomes pretty viable if they retain their model of online service, because it’ll be going all day long and you’ll be jumping in and out with everyone playing at the same time. So that sounds something like Planetside 2 and Skyrim had a baby.
It’ll feature magic and customization and it’s toted as a social game. They said there will be competitive support, but what that really means is still fuzzy.
DO NOT. I say it again. DO NOT think this will be the the next Halo with BRs and same starts and everything gets nerfed because you don’t like it. Magic means AAs. So keep that in mind and we’ll see what Bugie throws to the competitive crowd that wants to try out Destiny.
Will it kill Halo. Probably not. I’d imagine 343 is working hard to be relevant with Halo5 and on the next gen console and with a larger pallet to work with you’ll see a real drive to keep Halo strong in the market. I mean you got toys and clothing to consider here and killing Halo isn’t a option for Microsoft.
So guys Destiny is a good thing. I believe it’ll promote competition between both Distributers to make the most impact on the consumers as possible by being the best product in the market. But that’s my hope anyways.

Right because, after all, all change that has happened is good and we should get used to! NO.
Big boy huh? Well I though people like you who sink so low that they need to call people names had left this Forum. Proved me wrong.
Why should Destiny kill off Halo ???
Destiny may just be another big thing out there alongside Halo, COD or whatever else rocks your boat.
I am bemused that any 1 game has to be better than another, or a replacement.
Just enjoy whatever it is you are playing.
Destiny is more like that game “DUST 514”. It’s a mmo first person shooter, not an arena first person shooter like Halo is, or used to be. It won’t be a threat to Halo 4. Destiny is not competing with Halo like others games such as CoD or Crysis.

You have a very valid point there, but I have set my faith in this game. The music is composed by some of my favourite composers, it’s being developed by an excellent studio called Bungie, the art and short clips of gameplay we’ve seen looks fantastic. I love the plot outline and class-based shooters.
Of course, it certainly has potential to fail but I’m being optimistic here.
I hate to say Destiny in a way, sounds like Spartan Ops primarily (although much more complex). With competitiveness playing second fiddle.
