Maybe Advertise?

Does anyone else think 343 should advertise the 4sk changes when they come out cause honestly i stopped playing h4 and randomly decided to check the halo council or else i would have had no idea about these changes and i feel 343 should put something on the front page of xbox because the game is getting good.

Its not done yet, June 3rd

Like the Reach TU, it will do very little if anything for population, so best to save their time and money.

yes i know im saying when its released sorry i should have clarified

When it is released I bet there will be a announcement.

That would be like giving a penicillin shot to someone with stage 4 cancer, it’s not going to help. 343 and Microsoft both knew that halo 4 was going to fail in the long term which is why there was little to almost no marketing after the initial release. So why would Microsoft or 343 waste more money on something that is losing people at possibly the fastest rate of any triple A title ever released?

Advertising for Halo 4 is done. They have either hooked players or given them a reason to move on. I like Halo 4 but last week I bought Reach & Minecraft on the same day. Minecraft is getting most of my attention at the moment. Honestly I don’t like to admit it but it’s the truth. My wife & I bought Gold accounts & the map pass but our interest in Halo 4 is slipping. There’s no amount of advertising or encouragement from me that can get a controller back in her hands which is sad because her account is in the 90’s. I can’t say we didn’t try but the interest is waning. The recent “buff everything to match the DMR” was probably the final nail in the coffin to get her to stop playing. Both of us like full autos because face to face is our style. Getting sniped from across the map by a loadout weapon kills the game.

I’m pretty sure everyone knows a few people who stopped playing Halo. If the game improves, it would be up to the people in the Halo community to spread the word and convince them to give the game a second chance.

It does seem silly though that they didn’t even promote and advertise when the Map Packs were coming out.

CoD does video ads on Youtube every time they do a major addition to their games. Banner ads to go with.

Halo did nothing outside of Waypoint.

COD actually listens to their fanbase, 343 doesnt. Its simple.

Really, you think so? Their forums paint quite the different picture.

BTB Objective…Where is that? That has been asked for LONG before some of these others. It can’t possibly be that hard to make gametypes for the BTB maps. Forgers make custom gametypes all the time for BTB Objective.

Anyway, that said, I’m happy 343 is finally getting around to some of these other requests.

They are both as bad as each other, if you think otherwise then you’re misinformed.
CoD players have been complaining about every single CoD game for as long as I can remember. Most of the time, they aren’t listened to.

They listen. There have been plenty of updates since Black Ops 2 launched. Updates that have balanced weapons and made the game better. 343 is barely starting to care. Halo 4 is still a mess. BO2 is a better and more competitive game. Its what Halo used to be.

Halo 4 is still selling around 40,000 copies a week (around the same amount as blops 2) and has sold over 1 million copies since January. I don’t get how you think its failing in any way.

35,000 are buying it just because it is Halo 4, and they want to continue the main story from Halo 1-3. 5000 are buying it for Spartan Ops and Forge, and playing MM regardless if they win or lose, and probably arent smart enough to know any better. 1000 play MM, then trade the game in to Gamestop every 2 weeks.

If “fail” is determined by lack of sales, then No, Halo 4 doesnt fail. If “fail” is determined by people actually PLAYING the game they bought, for more than 5 hours before they put it on a shelf, or trade it in, then yes, Halo 4 is failing.

tl;dr. Halo 4 is still being sold because it has “Halo” on the box, regardless of the content inside. Halo 4 isnt being played due to it being a “favorite game”, compared to any other, therefore it fails.

Yet it is still sells more than games that just came out and is more played on XBL charts than those same games. Tomb raider, GoW, Crysis, Bioshock, etc didn’t take it’s spot on xbl charts. So, in that aspect, it ISN’T failing.

Now, these numbers are much lower than that of previous Halos, but they are still very high compared to most other games.
