No offence undiagnosed anything is bad make you you get a propa diagnoses from a professional rather then diagnosing yourself someone else will rub that off on someone with a genuine diagnoses
Adhd is by no dopamine levels in the brain why no self control but you need a way to sort that through exercise
Infinite is a video game, not a job. Play the game, have fun, and don’t worry about “rewards” and all the other childish bull**t.
I feel this would be a good opportunity to inject a credits reward to put challenges towards once a pass is completed.
So that you could toggle between an active pass, or a completed one and earn say 50 credits for every level over 100. Might be a little too much with the new progression update, but just pitching an idea.
Another thing why the hell would you pay for all the levels just to simply complain now what, personally buying everything sucks the fun out of the game, this is my personal experience
Now what indeed. You are facing a common issue of BattlePasses that isn’t really talked about.
Games used to have long-term in-game goals, In Reach it was reaching Inheritor rank, in Halo 5 reaching SR152… These aren’t true goals, but progression paths that gave players players rewards for simply playing the game and players were free to make it their goal.
Infinite does not have a long-term goal or progression path. Players have also been trained to expect to receive rewards for doing anything in a game. So when the only source of getting something has been used up they feel the game is empty or incomplete or that they are done with the game. We aren’t living in the age of playing for fun anymore. We live in a we play for the rewards age but we want earning these rewards to be entertaining for us.
BattlePasses make me feel like I NEED to play a game instead of WANTING to play a game. I quit Destiny after the first battle pass because of this. Its why i never bought BPs in any other game either. The second i feel like i need to play a game is when its no longer fun. Sure, the BPs in infinite are permanent so that helps slightly.
The shiny stuff spikes dopamine. It’s why the unlock sound effects are always so satisfying
343 said they’ll be working on a more traditional “level” system, as far as I recall. How they just have a battlepass and not levels is beyond me, entirely, but they’re working on it.
If it’s going to be ten years I hope that the leveling up can last for that long.
You may be maxed on the BP, but I bet your competitive rank isn’t maxed
.
All about the grind!
Now you play for fun, or play something else, or go outside…
unfortunately in Finland they usually just ignore stuff, already know from therapist along with ptsd and a few other disorders, but when it comes to Dr’s here, they just throw anti depressants at you and problem solved as far as they are concerned :-/
Alright… if this is entirely a common misconception, then explain to me why it is that dev teams are sometimes taken from other projects in order to help out with a certain project because it suddenly got massive “content” workload that needed to be kept up…
One very good example of what I mean is what happened to Fortnite BR. Not one, not two, but THREE games were pretty much canned or put into maintenance mode (Paragon, UT4, and even the PvE portion of Fortnite, which was supposed to be the main focus originally…), because the amount of “content” players expect grew so large and so fast thanks to the unexpected popularity, that it was impossible to keep up with it. This would not have been necessary if every dev group was merely tasked to different things…
Another good example, and as to why I do not fully trust 343i when they try to pin the blame solely on Microsoft, is what happened with Bungie and Destiny 2… The player demand for constant “content” grew so fast that Activision had to allocate devs from other studios, who were also working on projects at the time JUST so that they could keep up with player demands, which not only affected dev resources for the other games being worked on, but still didn’t quite fix the “content” drought issue as players were constantly complaining about late updates and lack of things to do.
Funny thing is, after Bungie left and took Destiny 2 with them, people thought the greedy practices would stop, but not only did the games “content” and quality of said “content” grind to a halt, the greedy practices got worse, and it is astonishing to me that people STILL continue to give Bungie the BotD TO THIS DAY despite seeing all this…
Once again, if not allocating devs that are supposed to do one thing to another was seriously a common misconception, then why are more and more issues like this becoming more apparent, it’s almost as if they were always a problem but nobody ever really talked about it until now…
Here’s the thing, best case scenario, Microsoft is gonna hire temp contract workers to help keep up with the player demand of “content”, and then immediately dispose of them when their job is done. Or they’re gonna pull resources and devs from other studios they own, or even within the dev team itself and put them to focus on “content” over bug fixing and additional QoL features, because like it or not, many Multiplayer games have conditioned people that Monetized unlockables and passes ARE “CONTENT”.
This is the “content” that makes the big bucks, and therefore is what gets prioritized above all else, if you don’t believe me, then look no further then the billions of dollars that microtransaction driven addictive gacha games and the likes of mobile have raked companies in…
Knowing this, I have this question to ask… do you genuinely believe for one second that Microsoft and 343i will, in good faith, not take ANY team focus away from any one of the specialized devs and move them over to assisting in the creation of “content” in order to maximize the speed of said “content” being pumped out to meet player demand?

Well I guess I can feel a little better now that they’re making articles about it LOL.
