Maxed Battle pass. Now what?

Lets say this is indeed the case, that is still around the price of 4 brand new triple A games (or 2 if you buy the 100 USD edition (you could even subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate for an entire year at this price), just to complete the battle pass and snag every cosmetic item early… it’s still quite expensive and I doubt every person playing the game is able or willing to do this…

even IF they are willing, why complain when they run out of things to do having exhausted all their options deliberately by opting in to pay their way through the unlockable content?

Idk but I saw a flaming Emile day 2 of launch in Quick Play, so there are absolutely people out there that just maliciously spend money for flexing purposes and that’s what they like to do. However, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t add an MCC rank system so that your XP from challenges will still go somewhere after the BP is maxed.

It would actually be nice if there were an after BP BP filled with just skips, XP boosts, and XP grants, you can earn extra to save up for the next BP coming out.

I’d much rather Dev time and resources be allocated to fixing bugs and adding missing content rather than focus on adding more and more things to unlock for people who decided to take a shortcut…

I would also like bugs fixed so my friends and I stop crashing all the time or losing server connection on ethernet, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like the Battle Pass also expanded better like in MCC

I dont think its the money spent to max out that hes saying is problematic for gaming. Supporting a game is fine. The problem is the attitude unlocking a progression tree being the main focus of “completing” a game. Rather than it be an additional piece of the game. Games like halo should be about the gameplay its self, wether its casual or pushing rank and getting better. The i unlocked everything now im done is what i think is ment by the statement

If it IS about the money spent, that maybe because it reinforces some companies bad and predatory practices when they see they can get away with it. but on that, others can do whatever they want with their own money. But in reality this battle pass takes alot of time to progress thru w/o spending money. But even when it is finnished. there is plenty of actually gameplay to do.

But, if u really are at a lose for things to do because finishing the battlepass was your main goal. Enough so to post about it, then id suggest next time, try going thru it without spending as much. Then you have more to do in game.

I’m not trying to be overly critical but did you actually spend a lot of money on this? That’s kind of crazy tbh

People are throwing A lot of money at literal armor colors and emblems nobody even sees.

I’m not trying to tell people how to live their lives, but we all need to have some perspective here. About the only thing I’m interested in maybe eventually paying money for is weapon skins or something since you can actually see those

This. Is. Amazing.
Keep up the good work.

I think that’s a good idea. In a game I play called magic the gathering arena when you max out the mastery pass you get free random cards with each new level, so it’s still worth playing even after you’re done. When there’s not an extra objective like that it will probably reduce player retention between battle passes

I have some advice. Seriously, not gunna mock you for buying.
Here’s what I think you should do.
Don’t buy anything else as part of the game, if anything for your own sake!
It’ll just encourage 343 to make the game even worse for us who don’t like “micro” transactions, and you’ll just end up spending more and more each season if you have ADHD.
Maybe take a break from the game, go spend time with friends and family. But please don’t spend any more on this game. It’s just bad for everyone.

This guy gets it. I think this should be pinned to every one of these recurring topics to explain what the core problem is

I have adhd and I concur. These sorts of instant gratification pay for items things are designed to leech off of people with mental health issues more than the average person. Self control isn’t always a natural human feature…we’re all animals looking for a serotonin fix.

Honestly we need to help each other more to prevent a lot of this. Talk people out of wasting money as much as possible

Here’s the thing: that’s not how game design works.

The devs that fix bugs and the devs that create, maintain, and update the progression system are not a part of the same team. Different teams do different things for the same game.

This is a common misconception. People tend to think that by adding more cosmetic and progression stuff, it takes away from bug fixes and gameplay additions, when that couldn’t be further from the truth.

This is why people turn against game companies.
These systems not only ruin the game, they prey on those who are too vulnerable to help themselves!
It is disgusting.
All the best for you brother!

Now you can show off all your cool gear to help 343 advertise buying battle pass levels

where i live rockstars have been on sale for 1$ per can with 1 2xp and 2 challenge swaps, rockstars have always been my favorite so i stocked up and now im mid 90s from boosting on bot matches everyday (5 levels a day atleast) if you live with people make them drink the rockstars too

I was planning on maxing out the battlepass ever since hitting 152 in H5 and not knowing what to do so now I want to hit 2k matches played (they really need more stat tracking) I also plan on helping people do weekly ultimates in the LFG

Now you wait 5-6 months for season 2.

Congratulations, you misunderstood the assignment

Task failed successfully

Maaaan, they better have something other than the Tenrai Fracture events once a month until May, because otherwise most people that used XP boosters will be out of stuff to do after December, besides Weeklies for items they actually want, since XP does nothing. Iirc there were Santa hats so maybe there’s a Christmas event. Maybe an Easter event too with rabbit ears.

I believe there were a few teasers for upcoming events including a winter/Christmas themed one

Brilliant allegory, but not my focus. Chastising other people for it is my concern.

Haha that’s brilliant - but I’m not sure why you would when the seasons 6 months long. Unless you wanted to be first to do it. Then I get it.
