I think the mauler should be in Halo 4, and then the blotshot should lose its charge ability and get a buff for its single shot mode. I like the boltshot, but it is frustrating to get killed by it when using the energy sword. The mauler would give people a deadly, useful close quarters weapon, while still not beating one shot power weapons. What do you think? If you agree please support this idea on the forums! maybe we can get it in halo 5!
Also comment on weather or not this is better than it is right now.
Just replace the boltshot with a Mauler with 4 rounds. The mauler was so effective in ODST for killing anything and I want to see it back.
I think it should get four rounds, but if you shoot someone really close you should be able to shoot them and then immeadiately punch them to kill them. of course it would also be semi automatic.
You shouldn’t be able to start with a mauler and neither should you be able to start with a boltshot.
There is a reason why the mauler wasn’t a starting weapon on Halo 3. It’s too OP for a starting weapon. It would just become a camp corner fest… oh wait that’s what Halo 4 became. Even worse now add promethean vision and invisibility armor abilities and you get the turd gameplay in regular Halo 4 matchmaking.
I don’t see Halo 4 getting any worse with the mauler in it.
I enjoyed the Mauler and wouldn’t mind seeing it make a come back (along with a slew of other past weapons).
But I still don’t get the hate for the Boltshot. It’s a forerunner weapon - would you honestly expect it to be weaker than any of its human/covie counterparts? Sometimes I die by it, sometimes I kill with it, pretty much like any other weapon in the game.
All these complaints from people about getting killed in a FPS. Why don’t they learn a new trick and maybe stop blindly turning a corner like a noob?
I know a lot of people think you shouldn’t get to choose what weapon you spawn with, but does anyone think spawning with the mauler would be worse than spawning with the boltshot?
It wouldn’t make any sense to have the Mauler since there aren’t any Brutes. They just need to nerf the Boltshot, and it won’t be as bad.
Scattershot reminds me more of the Mauler. Most of the time, you end up missing some of the spread for the Scatter, which makes it feel like a Mauler. Also the rof is another reason.
The Boltshot should actually BE the new Mauler.
Brute weapons in general need to come back. I’m disappointed in how Brutes have basically been removed entirely from the lore.
