what do you 343 meant by the story will be more “grown up” and mature?
We might see some stronger language, possibly more blood/gore, just an overall darker story that is more like Aliens than Star Wars.
More people dying in cutscenes and stuff I suppose. Seeing how gritty and horrific the war is.
A more gritty and bloody depiction of war. We will see the more emotional effects of war as well as the more destructive/gory side of war. On top of this the flood will be more disturbing-more like in the Halo comics and books.
You know Emile’s dying moment? That times a thousand.
Probably more like a story from a movie and not like your typical video game story. It will have meaning and you won’t go around killing people for no reason like other video games.

No Flood in Halo 4 I’m afraid.
I believe that we will see more ‘maturity’ in that, rather than being the world’s greatest hero and being such a ‘badass’, the Chief will have to coop with some events in which he does not know the answer to. Maybe some sort of Divine Intervention, or something such as him simply running out of hope for any type of victory in the upcoming battle.
Not a real big fan of over excessive blood and gore in games that try to have serious stories but to see a more realistic effect on someone for example getting stuck by a grenade would be pretty cool.

Frankie made a post a few days ago, if not yesterday, that we won’t be fighting the Flood.
I’m guessing more coarse language, a bit more gore, a more serious attitude to the universe and more ‘scary’ for lack of a better word situations as well as more intimidating enemies.
I hope by ‘more mature’ they meant there will be a somber atmosphere in Halo 4.
Like in LoZ: Majora’s Mask you had the 3-day time limit and the scary as blam moon slowly drawing closer towards termina. That game was so atmospheric and dark and I loved it.
I want H4 to have that sort of atmosphere to it.
