We all know of how matchmaking is not functioning as it should be, and this is leading to frustration for many of us I’m sure. The question I pose is to whether you have gotten it to work.
When addressing the issue, 343 Industries is reluctant to say that you cant find matches, instead saying something along the lines of “long matchmaking times”. Is this true to you? Are you experiencing long matchmaking times but still manage it to work? Or are some of you unable to even find one player?
The reason I am interested is because currently I am gaming on a University Connection. My issue here is that my Xbox One is reluctant to connect to anything that is not somehow run on Dedicated Servers. My fear is that although Halo Matchmaking is run on Dedicated Servers, some function of its matchmaking prevents my Xbox One from actually being able to run correctly in the matchmaking environment, and therefore It may seem that I am searching for players, but in reality I never had a chance.
Make sure your nat is open. Then if your don’t find a match in 3-5 minutes back out and restart the search takes a little bit but the matches are there.
I’ve gotten into a grand total of 1 game in the 55 or so hours since launch, and that was 36+ hours ago. Once I was in, the game worked great. But once it was over, 4 of the players left and it never found more players to get the next match started.
Since I have had my copy and my two days off. I have played two games. What the hell is the deal? Do I need to reinstall or something. My nat is open and I’m wired with 50 megs. Everything’s good to go. Is anyone else having this bad of a problem? The only reason I got an Xbox one is to play online and I can’t find a match in anything AT ALL!!!’ Can someone help me fix this ridiculous problem. I wouldn’t mind having a game an hour.

This isn’t standbying. Halo 2 your screen would go blank and then you would come back dead. This is just lag.
Who the heck has the time to wait 10-20 minutes between matches? That is completely unacceptable. Then on top of that there are many other bugs that make even those matches suck half the time. Why are teammates being split up? So disappointed…

Could you explain to me why players have host? I was under the impression that with dedicated servers players would not be “hosting”…

I can’t tell you man, But what I have seen over the many hours waiting since release is if you don’t get a game within 5 minutes you get put into some really laggy game WHICH MIGHT BE P2P. I cannot say for sure though that it is P2P because when I play customs with a bunch of people on a bad host it lags but not to the point of teleporting. I have only had teleporting in MM.
Also if people are under the impression there is a host because of the error while your searching for a game “Could not connect to host please restart search” or something like that. I’m pretty sure that is still counting as a “Dedicated host” which you could not connect to, Because once you connect to people you are basically in a lobby which the dedicated server is controlling.

I am in the exact same boat…I have taken two days off and haven’t been able to play.
I have been in one match since release. Wait I got into my second one…nope wait my second game…2v3 on beaver creek. No communication between teammates. I am starting to get games now but can’t get a party going. It is running decent. I hope they get the stuff worked out. I also was going to take a few days off but with Halo CE anniversary history I decided not to.
