I just started playing halo 5 after a year of not playing it but I’m on my second account so I am only a level 15 and I keep getting put up against level 50’s and above. Its really hard. Even when my search preference is on focused which is the best for match making with skill. I dont know what to do because it really isnt fun for me being destroyed by people triple my level
Are there any suggestions for what I should do?
Your SR (Spartan Rank) does not reflect skill. It’s the MMR that organizes who you’re matching against.

It depends on how you play. When you vs people that are low level and you do really good the game probably sees you as a high level player so you play against high level people.

You probably don’t have the same skill level only because they have more experience knowing the maps better etc. Once you know the playing field and weapons you be able to get more comfortable and handle 100’s.
So basically you are attempting to smurf by using a new account and it’s not working out… That is why players make additional accounts. Also as said SR has nothing to do with skill. Your CSR rank is what reflects skill.

No im not trying to smurf. My last account got permanently banned so I had to make a new account…

Try to change your search preference to Balanced or Expanded. That helped me when it took ages to get into a game
Tried that already mate. Its on expanded ive played 3 games in like 2 and half hours this is poor form.

If Matchmaking is supposed to match you with and against players of a similar skill level then the game is massively broken…which is a quite a statement considering how much is broken in this game!
Searching doubles G6 and trying to get back into Plat on balanced to be repeatedly matched against high diamonds and onyx players…switch to focused searched and get matched against a pair of 60-90 Champions.

dude im level 146 but i would consider myself an average player. ive just put in a whole bunch of time and ranked up a lot. My gf plays on my account all the time too, and shes worse than i am, so the rank really has nothing to do with skill. if you want a better metric for both you and your opponents, take a look at true K/D on waypoint, its generally gonna give you a good picture of who is really a baller.

im not sure if the ranked matchmaking is always supposed to pit you against people of the same skill. i thought it put you against people both higher and lower than you and evaluated expected performance vs particular opponents. still though, gold vs two champion rank? wtf…thats brutal

You said you’re playing on a second account. That means you have more Halo 5 experience than someone at your level with only one account. But that’s beside the point; again, SR does not reflect skill. I know some SR 100+ players who can barely make it past silver ranks in Ranks Playlists. And there are many Champion players who create alt accounts, so it goes both ways.
