Hey there,
A couple days ago I tried getting into Reach matchmaking on backwards compatibility (Never had Live on my 360, so I didn’t purchase the map packs).
I get a message that tells me I don’t have the DLC installed, and get sent back to the main menu.
I always thought the packs were optional, there if you wanted to play them. But was I wrong? Are you just unable to play the matchmaking without the DLC?
Or am I missing something?

No you can play the basic matchmaking maps e.g. swat etc… Basically the first two boxes and some others e.g. grifball. Sometimes it will tell you, but you should be able to play in match making if you cancel the message. The things you can’t play is the anniversary matchmaking.

Yeah! There was terrible lag but I think that was more due to my internet connection having a tantrum than any fault of the game XD

I hope your connection doesn’t cause too many problems for you.
