Why aren’t there custom search parameters in matchmaking instead of this rediculous vote crap? I’m tired of Searching firefight (or any given playlist) and always getting stuck in a custom mode because i got outvoted. Why not have separate playlists for the gamemodes instead of having just one, and having people vote between them? Because i have no interest in playing arcade, fistfight, FRG, or any other -Yoink- custom mode. And i get -Yoinked!- at, or banned, because i left a match i didnt want to be in to begin with.
And this applies to every other playlist aswell. Such as Invasion. I chose invasion because i wanted to play invasion, not slayer, and not skirmish, Invasion. Why is this hard to understand? I mean, -Yoink- man. Invasion Slayer has no business in the Invasion playlist. ITS SLAYER GODDAMMIT, PUT IT WITH THE SLAYER PLAYLIST. It has absolutely nothing to do with invasion itself besides having invasion in the title. Just rename the -Yoink- gamemode and put it in the slayer playlist.

All game modes in firefight are still firefight… some are just on the silly childish side. If you don’t want to play the silly stuff, why did you not chose score attack? In S.A. you are the only one playing. Meaning whatever you vote for is exactly what you are going to play, no one elses vote gets in your way of playing what you want. If you still desire to play with multiple people but don’t want to play the silly things… play with only friends that share the same views as you. You all vote for exactly what you all want. What is the problem?
Also, Invasion slayer is belongs in the invasion playlist more than it belongs in a slayer playlist. If you don’t like it, don’t vote for it. More to the point, why are you searching invasion without a team?

Why would i want to play firefight by myself? That defeats the whole point. And firefight isnt running around with a rocket launcher with infinite ammo snd overshields. The only reason it’s in the game to begin with is for people to farm credits.

again, if you choose to play in a group and the group votes for somthing you don’t like… you need to play in a group that has the same opinions you do. That way they vote for the same gametype you do.
But people like that dont exist in reach anymore. The only people left are the -Yoinks!- who couldnt convert to halo 4, and the credit hungry -Yoinks!- who want to prove they’re superior than everyone else.

Thats false. I can guarantee you there are still people that play reach that dont fit in those categories. I converted to halo 4 but i still come back to reach to have fun and not for credits.
If you are a firefight person you could easily find 3 others that also want to play the more “serious” firefight gametypes

Actually, I credit farm in Reach. And I’m SR130 in 4 so yes, I did convert to 4. But the reason I credit farm in Reach is because I got XBL in November of 2012 right before Halo 4 launched; however, I had no idea Reach would take away my offline Inheritor rank and I lost 99% of my armor. I care a lot about my armor, it’s the second most important thing in Halo for me, right under the story, because I love customization. So I am currently back in Reach to get my helmet back. When I get it back, I’m done with Reach online for good. I’ll only come back for a complete campaign playthrough of the series. So yes, people do still credit farm in Reach, some people for different reasons than others.

I think it’s awful, personally. But if a lobby votes to play it, then it gets played! Is that not how a vote is to operate?
The OP’s real problem isn’t the voting system… He has a problem with the voters. Simple solution, like in every vote is to form a party of similar minded folk, gather them and vote. I don’t understand why this bothers him.

And that’s fine, i don’t have a problem with others liking different things. I have a problem with being forced to play it because of a majority vote. It would be so simpler if they just let me search specifically for what i wanted to play, instead of being forced into a poll. That way, i could play firefight, and you could play whatever it is you wanted, and everyone would be happy.

Yes, we get it. You want people to play your way and if it isnt your way then it is a broken system that doesnt work.
By your own words “players like that dont exist on Reach don’t exist anymore” if this is true, than how can you possibly search for people that don’t exist? The only options you have sir are

find players that feel the same way as you do, go into matchmaking and you can all vote for the same thing.

Search for random players and operate as a group, that means voting.
Complaining isn’t gonna get no where this thread should be locked. Voting is there for a good reason since there’s alot of maps. You don’t like it you can sell Halo Reach if you want and get a different game. I like the voting system it works fine.
