Matchmaking vetos

I’m posting here to see if the community feels that bringing back old mechanics, like map vetoing, would be a welcomed addition to guardians. I’m rather new to Halo 5, but don’t get me wrong, I have been enamored with the franchise for fourteen years. Killing future alien scum captivates me the same today as it did when I was a child. So I ask, would it help build a more vocal and decisive community to allow the player more control to matchmaking or create more suppression and animosity within the community?

Yes definitely, its quite clear the current map rotation is broken because when i play Team Arena, its usually slayer. Or same maps 4 out of 6 games. Etc

Veto definitely is needed

I have to agree. It feels like there is a lack in variety for most gametype/map combinations, although this is opinionated, I also feel that some maps are better/worse than others. It seems like the problem stems for a lack of pregame menu options like displaying both teams instead of one, or allowing players to see their teamates names and giving players the option to mute teamates pregame. I would assume that the 343 reasoning would have been to focus attention on the req pack system instead of the game itself, but if you have all your eggs with one system then you could be reqing yourself when people finish collecting all the cards and realise the need for improvement.

Bump

I said yes, but I don’t think we have the map/game type variety to fully implement a veto or vote system. It’s nice to have a say, but either way you still end up playing on the same maps every time.

Yeah, we need vetoes. I’m tired of playing on the same map three games in a row.

Yep, we need vetoes!!

This would really solve all the Overgrowth, Riptide / Torque dissatisfaction problems. Now people would actually see if they are something worth playing

I really liked the veto system in all previous halo’s. But now I have had a change of heart. I like the fact that we don’t get to choose, it means I have been playing a wide variety of maps and game types and not just stuck to the same map and game type all night long. I feel if vetoes were put in maps like riptide and overgrowth would rarely get played ( and I am a fan of both these maps ) and for players who enjoy certain maps and game types, not being able to play them may push them away from the game.

Not being able to veto is fair for all players.

You would propably end up vetoing between Riptide/Overgrowth/Torque anyway which people don’t want to play in the first place… Those maps are cancer and it’s always new maps 9/10 games. I don’t believe the chance to get assigned on a map/gamemode is random at all, the chance to be assigned on those 3 has to have been increased.

Right now there’s no Team Hardcore or HCS or anything with HWC gamemodes only. We’re getting slayer in Team Arena because of the idea “it’s in the HWC and competitive scene”. Why the hell is Overgrowth/Riptide/Torque there then?!? This is why veto is needed or the playlists need to be improved

If a bad map has been created it’s better to just leave it die alone in the desert than to force people to choke on it

Vetos is a must for Arena, it’s been one of the core functions of Halo MM for about a decade. It seems really odd to me that they didn’t include that right of the bat.

We need Veto option and post game medals.

I agree, we didn’t have it in halo 2, but it doesn’t mean wouldn’t have wanted to have it, had it actually been on the table

Yes the playlist needs to be fixed, however I still don’t think veto should be implemented.

Its a bad map in your opinion. There are other opinions. I personally like riptide, and overgrowth is not the worst halo map ever made. Not played torque enough yet to form an opinion on it.

And just because you think the map is bad does not mean you have to choke on it…
