Matchmaking Terribly Unbalanced

I’ve made a post before on what needs changing, and I’ve made a post similar to this on the MCC forum.

How on earth have 343i managed to make infinites balancing as bad, if not worse than MCC? It is every single game I get 1 of 2 different team compositions:

1 - Awful teammates that refuse to play an objective, don’t know what planet they’re on and can’t understand the concept of playing as a team. This is coupled with enemies who are quite clearly far better than myself and my teammates, who stomp us 100-5 in every oddball round.

2 - Very good teammates who carry me, play the objective very well and have quite clearly got a good grasp of what they’re doing with a gamemode. This is coupled with terrible enemies that aren’t satisfying to fight because they are far lower than myself and my teammates in skill level.

Why can’t they get this right? It’s dumfounding. On top of this, the progression system in it’s current state does not encourage objective play, meaning the issue of never having people play an objective is compunded. It’s quite frankly stupid how they’ve managed to make a mess of balancing twice in a row, even with feedback from MCC players saying it’s unbalanced.

Whats worse, is that you cannot ask teammates to get the ball, or focus the flag, or help the team out, because the chat censors the damn message. It isn’t flaming if you are simply asking “Can you please get the ball?” or “Focus the flag guys”. How are you supposed to get to people who have VC turned off? Genuinely mind-blowing decision.

The annoying thing is, when I want to have a chill game in quickplay (social playlists in MCC) it’s not possible to be remotely competitive without sweating my -Yoink!- off. Then, when I go to ranked arena, the same issue still plagues it. Why? There is no point in splitting the playlists if they are both sweat-fests. You might aswell just have a ‘play’ button that queues you up for anything. Before you say it, yes, Halo is a competitive game by nature, but it was still possible to have a relaxed game in Halo 3 back when it released. Why they’ve decided to make the game frustrating to play I do not understand.

The only thing that needs changing is tweaking to the SBMM, and changing how strict it’s criteria are in Quickplay. That’s it. It’s not a huge ask, and in comparison to them needing to fix the scuffed customisation, it’s really very easy to implement.

tl;dr -
Team balancing is still broken and makes for a frustrating and boring playing experience.
