Focused/Balanced/Expanded Matchmaking Preferences what do they mean to me can you help i am from the uk England time zone near London if that matters i am only bronze medal player looking for more uk players.
Which one should i set it too Focused Balanced or Expanded
Or dose it make no difference my end to the players i get
Expanded Searching means that you have a higher chance of matching players from further away (other countries/continents) and whose skill levels may be higher than yours. This usually results in faster search times.
Balanced Searching means that the system will try to find players around your skill level in your region for a set amount of time, then it will expand its parameters trying to find you a game within a certain skill window. Search times may vary.
Focused Searching only tries to find you players within your region around your skill level. Search times can be slow depending on how many players around your skill level are playing when you search.
At least these are the basics of the differences between the search preferences. I live in the US, so whichever preference I use doesn’t make a whole lot of difference for me, but I hear it’s a different story for players in Europe and Australia because of player populations in those regions. So I’d recommend searching balanced first. If you can’t find anything, then search expanded.
To add to that, you won’t match full parties of 8 or 4 when searching focused for a certain amount of time which differs in social and ranked. You can match them if you get a JIP game though and you can also match smaller parties.
