To start off I know they are adding doubles and an FFA playlist but I believe doubles is another “rotational” playlist. I think most people realize just how much potential 343i has with the matchmaking playlists and how much it is not being utilized. Right now this matchmaking playlist looks like something you would see in a test version of a game simply to test out new gametypes. It is random and restricted.
There are just so many better choices for playlists that would motivate people to get on more and not just flock to Big Team Slayer, Infinity Slayer, and SWAT. I will list some suggestions below.
First: Dear god combine all of the objective gametypes into one team objective playlist. This would leave so much more room for activities. Take out dominion and put in Extraction so that you can keep a level Team Size throughout the playlist. Include Team Regicide in here as well(maybe). Extraction is a lot of fun for anyone who hasn’t played it.
Second:
Add in the following as well (besides team objective):
-FFA (with slayer and objective gametypes like how Lonewolves was.Leave Regicide in there to choose from as well as putting in normal FFA slayer. In one month see which one is voted more often and take the other one out. Put in KoH, and oddball, but take away the ability to throw it in FFA only.)
-Team Snipers (why this was taken out I have no idea…let people select from different Sniper gametypes within this playlist.)
-MLG (now that the settings are out)
-Team Doubles (hopefully they keep this and not have it be rotational
-Grifball as a once a month playlist
-Fiesta as a once-in-awhile playlist. After watching Fiesta FFA at MLG it seriously looked like so much fun.
Third:
Leave in:
-Infinity Slayer
-Big Team Slayer
-Flood (with some changes to it)
-SWAT (but make each weapon a different gametype within this playlist…like SWAT DMR’s…SWAT Magnums…SWAT BRs…SWAT Carbines.)
And finally, while I do think these playlists would be a good idea, I seriously think we need to wait for more maps to come out. Right now there are just too many maps that a lot of gametypes would not play well on. I think once more maps come out these gametypes listed above can be utilized well. I am sure there are some things I thought of before that I forgot to put in but owell. Feel free to express your ideas also.
343 should do a lot of combined playlists with a lot of gametypes at first but then slowly take out the least popular ones as time goes on.
