Matchmaking Perma-ban?

So I got my first Arena Ban today, For “Griefing”. What had happen I was Playing Break out and I Ground Pounded at the wrong time and mistakenly killed all 3 of my team mates. (Why is Friendly Fire on in Arena anyway?) I got booted and then played another game and after I got out of the match I got a message that said I was banned for “Griefing” and it got me wondering can someone be Perma-Banned from matchmaking? I would really like to know this.

I Kind of find it a slap in the face to get banned for team killing. I mean everyone who has played halo at some point has been kicked from a game of accidentally team killed someone whether or not it was your fault or theirs. Then you get a jerk who team kills people for weapons they need to get kicked, but why even have friendly fire on?

The worse Ban I’ve heard of was 48 hours.

On a side note I do tend to turn off my Xbox mid Warzone match when I get bored or tired because,

  1. It’s not ranked.
  2. It has Join in progress so me leaving wont effect if my team wins or loses.
But Arena bans don’t effect Warzone. because I could still play warzone when I got banned.

TLDR: I got banned for accidentally killing my team mates and I want to know if you can get Perma-Banned.

How in gods name do you accidentally ground pound and kill all 3 of your team mates?

You know how you launch on the map at the start of the round? As soon as it started I ground pounded… I don’t normally attack my own team mates and forgot there was friendly fire. Is Breakout the only mode with friendly fire? I mean yeah this is one of those its your own fault team kills but why is friendly fire even turned on? (I got all pumped up and was like YEAH! GROUND POUND and then I was like oh…)

How the -yoink- do you accidentally kill all 3 teammates? Kinda like saying: Oops! I accidentally shot my entire platoon

Not really since ground pound is a AOE and everyone is in the same area its kind of easy. Its more along the Lines of “Oops! I Accidentally blew up the town”

But I would still like to know if people can get perma-banned…

Everything in Arena has friendly fire. As it should.

I don’t think people can get perma-banned because a couple of days where you don’t care who you kill, then they wouldn’t be able to play it ever again and that would suck.

It’s even funnier thinking your team booted the last man standing on your team!

No permenant bans for betraying - at least that’s what I think.

That is pretty funny actually haha!

OP, I don’t think there is a perma-ban for betrayals; accidental or deliberate.

i dont think so otherwise you just wasted all your money on the game

OP… Just because a game has JIP doesn’t mean that you quitting doesn’t effect them. It most certainly still does effect the team. They are still short handed for a little while. Some one doesn’t instantly drop in the minute you quit and some times some one may not drop in. As far as team killing yeah it can happen accidentally but it shouldn’t be so often it results in bans. My guess is between you quitting games and team killing is what got you banned. I would suggest watch your fire and ground pounds and don’t start ANY game unless you know you can finish.

That is defiantly true i saw a team that had 4 people left by the time we were done.
