I got Halo 4 recently and I’m happy to say it was worth every cent. Though I started at Reach and tried to get familiar with Halo history from there, Halo is still a great franchise overall to me. Matchmaking is fun, though there are some peeves. Please note that all opinions are strictly mine.

  1. Player base voting for same maps: I love all the maps, don’t get me wrong. Meltdown, Vortex, Ragnarok, Exile, and Haven are personal favorites. But I’m getting tired of playing Ragnarok and Exile each and everyday in Big Team Infinity Slayer. Infinity Slayer is my favorite playlist, so I’m kind of irked. I play Flood, Swat, CTF, Dominion and Regicide too. The popular maps here are Haven and Complex. I haven’t played Longbow or Adrift in a while so I’d like to see if anyone else shares a similar view.

  2. Exp. Boosting: There are at least two idle players every three game or so that I play. Why people would buy a game, leave it on and go watch TV or grab a bite I’ll never know. If you’re going to do something else with your time, decrease chances of your team winning or you can’t wait until you get that special helmet that needs requirements, then don’t buy Halo 4. It’s stupid, and you’ll save 60 bucks. I’m particularly fond of hard work, so this really ticks me off.

  3. Unsporting Players: This isn’t even a Halo problem itself, but I’ve never seen more jealous players in a game. What I mean by this is that if you board a Mantis, command a Scorpion, pilot a Banshee, or get dibs on that Machine Turret on the back of the Warthog, your teammate might shoot at you, plant a plasma grenade, or crazier people will use their ordnance weapons like an Incineration Cannon, Spartan Laser, Sticky Detonater, or even a rocket launcher to get back at you(I KID YOU NOT). There is little anyone can do about this except sending a Player Review which makes it a glaring problem.

I’m sorry for such a large post but I had to explain the details vividly. This post was made solely for the reason of finding others with the same view. If you read all of this, then you have my thanks for hearing me out! Thank you for reading!

Good post. The map voting is perhaps my biggest aggravation of all, I despise playing the same map over and over. I will even vote for a map that I don’t play well on just to keep things different.

People voting for the same maps has happened since we’ve had voting. Remember all the complaining about Sword Base or Countdown from Reach? At least with the veto it was, “This map, this game type: Yes, or no? No? Okay then play this combination.”

You just expressed my biggest gripes with the game, other people, Lookin at you team vehicle betrayers! We need friendly fire back so we can boot them or fight back

Idle and quit bans need to make a comeback too, I only got 1 in reach and I deserved it after a few lag matches (i dropped connection)and accidental teammate kills it booted me for 10 minutes from matchmaking, otherwise anyone I knew that got reset or banned also deserved it fully, I’m not even sure if you get penalized for quitting games or screwing your teammates around in halo 4 but seeing as how it’s still common I’d assume not
