Ok… I just finished another game on PC. Xbox was worse this week. Covid 19 keeping everyone home is getting all the very good players online and making Halo unplayable for me. I think I’m done, until this crap blows over. It sucks, because Halo has been a favorite of mine since childhood, but I just can’t keep up with the great players, and you can’t improve by playing against people, who are out of your league. Matchmaking in MCC is broken, and it’s depressing. I’m out. Hanging up my helmet, until people get back to their normal lives, and I can find fair matches again, or 343 implements a system to match players with others of similar skill. It’s one thing if you get a match with people out of your league every so often, but when it’s every other game, it makes matchmaking more of a chore than enjoyable.

What have you been playing, Reach, CE, certain playlists?
I play MCC primarily on Xbox, usually BTB in Reach, CE, and 2, and have found the opposite problem. Maybe it’s just a skill level differential, but usually those on my team are pretty bad. But I’m also playing social, so I’m not really trying to sweat it up anyway. Just trying to get in some vehicles and create some mayhem.
Don’t be mad like you said, they are out of your league. So, you should feel privileged to play with/against them and accomplished if you beat them. You may not notice it, but it definitely helps you improve.
I actually feel sorry for you man, I’ve been having some ups and downs too but that shouldn’t stop you from playing bro.
I feel your pain that is why I rarely play PVP anymore. When I do play I just accept the fact that I no longer can compete and play until I am too frustrated. Wish I could relax, chill out and have fun but my competitive nature makes it hard.
MCC and Halo 5 made playing matchmaking a chore.
Why don’t you play social gametypes?

I get your feeling. It sucks from the virus how all the good people stay in and kick your butt at everything. One thing I would do is play the customs browsers on Halo 5 or just make a forge map for fun.

It sounds like you need to get better. (I’m not calling you a bad player) matchmaking can be broken sometimes but that doesn’t mean you need to stop playing because some matches didn’t go in your favour. (I’m not trying to be mean, just saying how it looks from my point of view)
If you have it I recommend playing Halo 5, because it has skill based matchmaking, (optional). i understand the struggle of playing absolutely insane players. and I know it’s not the case for everyone but, I pushed myself when playing against them, and that’s how i got Platinum 1 in doubles last season.
I understand the struggle, but just don’t give up to fast, we believe in you.
