Hello everyone and 343. I am having this problem with matchmaking. In ranked playlists i have encountered teams that have 3 hight Rank players ( Champion, Onyx, Diamont) and 1 low skill player ( Bronze, Silver). In my team at the same time i have Unranked and Gold with under 0 KDA. Also in Warzone i have encounterd Spartan Companies which in everyone was 100 and above SR except 1 who was under 30 SR. Result i have lost Warzone under 8 mins because my team and were not skilled enough to beat them. In conclusion why you dont fix the matchmaking system so the people dont boost? Also why you dont fix the warzone? I am tired to play with Diamond in Arena when i am Gold and also i am tired to play Warzone and lose the game in 10 mins. And the population is not an excuse for the BOOST, because if the Halo 5 dint have problems like matchmaking and spawns the population would be better.

Valid concerns. Sadly, boosting isn’t a problem that is easy to fix as far as I know. Just one of those things that people are going to exploit 
I understand where op is coming from but I do the same thing but not to boost. Without a Smurf account searching I CANNOT find a game which means that the game.is useless to me. I’m sorry if I come up against anyone much lower than myself however it simply is not my fault.

hmm, do you search on expanded, and what playlists, because finding a wza game us impossible here in the UK
I leave in Greece and I use expanded and balanced on warzone. In arena I cant find games even in focused. Also it happened on focused to play like that, the enemy team 3 Onyx and 1 unranked and in my team I Gold and my team unranked. I don’t want to be hater but the matchmaking feels to choose who wins and who loses. Even in casual modes like BTB the matchmaking many times creates unbalanced teams for no reason. Also in Team Doubles in the worst. I have been unranked and I had enemies Champion and Onyx. Also it is funny because after a few games I had the same Champion player in my team. So the problem is not that the people boost each other but the matchmaking create these teams. Also the Warzone is totally broken in this current state due to the REQs level but this is another thing. In conclusion the Expanded, Balanced and Focused setting helps only for ping. And I ask this: how the matchmaking determines each players skill and sets the teams?

no I dont search expanded because I refuse to lag terribly and have half shots drop just to give the Americans a free win because the games are always on their servers. That is why I only play balanced.
i play balanced bcause i dont know how to change it. and dont have much time to play, try to play daily bases but 1 hours tops
I’m from italy and i’m experiencing exactly the same: almost impossible to find games once reached an high rank (high diamond, onyx) with balanced and focused.
Expanded makes you able to find a game almost instantly but the cost is an unbearable latency in favour of americans, because we all know that the largest part of the already disrupted population is located in US.
Population numbers aren’t sufficiently high to guarantee fair encounters (on ranking side), good connection games and reasonable search times all at once and the reason of this is the persistent presence of the rank filter hardcoded into a matchmaking system which can function properly only if there are enough people sustaining it.
Games like Titanfall 2, without a ranking system, are a good example of matchmaking completely focused on good connection (through selectable servers, a must nowadays) and fast search times.
I was shocked when i searched the first time in a playlist with only 32 players on my chosen server, anyway i was able to find a match in less than a minute in a 32ms ping server.
Proof of that is TF2 position in XBL most played scoreboard, behind H5, but if you’ll give it a try you will be able to enjoy the game exactly like we did with H5 on launch, when population numbers were high and healty.
Reassuming my thoughts: this game has reached a point where soon people outside US, the only region not affected by this problem, won’t be able to play at all if not choosing to play on US servers through Expanded option, leading to a frustrating and laggy experience and all this not because there aren’t enough players around to sustain an 8 players match, but because the system will filter them out based on ranks.
For social playlists: keep in mind that thanks to 343 Multiplayer Lead Quinn Del Hoyo and his “everything must be ranked” philosophy even social playlists have an hidden ranks, exposing them to the exact issue that is plaguing ranked arena.

ahh, I see, yeah, I think I may need to switch back to balanced for most of my ranking games, I’m tired of being placed gold in arena when I onyx/diamond in ffa
