This is a problem that both me and my brother have had repeatedly. Bad teammates. One game, the scoreboard looked roughly like this (kills-deaths):
Teammate 1: 23-9
Me: 23-10
Teammate 2: 2-13
Teammate 3: 2-14
Now if you do the math you can see we still won that game by 4–but too often the performance of the players towards the top of the scoreboard gets completely negated by the players towards the bottom. Even in this game two players had to get 46 kills out of 50, or 92% of the kills! Would it not make more sense if the players in a match were all the same rank, with similar KDAs? Why isn’t it that those ‘bad’ players can play in their own matches with players entirely within their skill range, and I can play with better competition?
It almost seems to me that the matchmaking system is trying to balance teams by placing a lower skill player on one (or both) sides. Inevitably they will struggle to get kills. It would be a better experience for players of both skills levels if teams were actually balanced properly.
while i think the rank system needs to be fixed. that said i think it takes time for the system to start putting people in even matches.

It works to the degree of matching people of the same or similar rank. With that said your rank is determined on how well your team did overall against another. They might have gotten lucky and matched up with teammates that knew what they were doing and pulled off major upsets and going up in rank in the process but when they match up multiple people of the same rank but of the same individual skill it makes things difficult.
The ranking system works, just a bit of poor execution. This will most likely happen in the full release later in the year and take a couple of weeks to weed out the lucky that got onyx and up
It’s still very annoying, just lost because of a single teammmate who kept dying. I can carry our team to an extent, pretty much so long as they stay around 0kd at least. A few negatives is okay generally but big negatives? Drags us down. I am trying to rank up but I am stuck due to bad team mates.
I’ve never minded any of the ranking systems but this one is sooo bad…
