matchmaking issues

so I’ve just added Gold to my account, intent on playing some Reach. same method every time where I go into the Xbox’s settings, and click on extend subscription or whatever it is, which takes me to Xbox Marketplace and all that…the Gold is there; my Xbox tells me it’s active and when it runs out. HOWEVER, I am currently sitting in Reach’s matchmaking menu, wondering why it’s telling me “requires an Xbox LIVE Gold Membership with permission to play multiplayer on Xbox LIVE”. what is going on with this? is it a bug of some kind?
in case it helps, this is on an Xbox One S, using disc backwards compatibility, and this has not happened to me before

(I apologize if the issue is a simple one to resolve as it has been awhile since I’ve touched my Xbox and as I said I have never had this issue before)

nevermind it’s just my Xbox being useless

EDIT: Destiny works perfectly fine on Xbox LIVE so it is Reach which is acting up; please help

I had the same issue, I personally fixed it by going on to my Xbox 360 and just updating my password for my account and when I tried reach on my Xbox one it worked fine.

This is the solution for that issue, I’ve experienced it as well and Xbox Live 3.0 (XB1) and Xbox Live 2.0 (Xbox 360) sometimes does not auto sync membership so you need to go back to your Xbox 360 or Microsoft Account and just verify your password maybe adding a 2FA/Authenticator, in one case I had to find an app password that needed to be changed to use my account.

I thank you for advice, guys. Fortunately for me I did not have to use it, as when I booted up and popped onto Reach today, it decided that it was working fine, as I can now play in Matchmaking. However, I will keep this information in mind for the next time it happens (just in case), and I again express my gratitude.
