Hello 343. First off, I LOVE halo 5. It’s fantastic.
I’m fairly new to the game and recently started playing in ranked arena (mostly team slayer and swat).
I’m ranked Silver 3 in team slayer and Gold 1 in swat, but I keep getting matched up with players in the platinum and diamond tiers.
Needless to say I am getting completely destroyed now when playing in arena. I thought players were supposed to get matched up with other players of the same rank (or close to it).
Any insight here would be helpful.

Skill based matchmaking was recently opened up to allow really high-skilled players the ability to match. Previously, top notch players were having trouble finding games because they were so good, there weren’t enough people around their level to match with them.
I looked through like 20 of your most recent Swat games and saw that only a couple of them had Platinums on the enemy team but not yours. I would say that, skill-wise, your matchmaking has been pretty close. You’ve got a decent spread of both victories and defeats. It certainly doesn’t look like you’re only getting matched against higher skilled opponents in your games.
To piggy back off of what Chimera said, if you have specific games in mind, you can post a link in the thread at the top of the section and Dr Menke may take a look.
I’d also recommend reading through his feedback archive threads as he covers a lot of your questions. Feel free to address any further questions in that thread as well.
