I have played rank twice this week and both times in playing platinum/diamond ranks I don’t have a rank and never been either. So why am I automatically placed with people who have ranks and such high ranks it is not fun nor far. I would share screenshots but I don’t know how.
It comes down to population. Not as many players play the game anymore and even fewer play Ranked. You would have matched up with more unranked or lower ranked players a couple years back.
It’s not really broken just not a lot of players to make perfectly balanced matches every game… Also if you are in your placement matches you may get a bit more variety in your match ups as the game is seeing where you should rank.
Like mentioned above, the game is just trying to figure out your skill level so it can place you in the appropriate matches.
