Br is the reason i prefer halo 3 over halo 2. In halo 3 the weapon designs were balanced way better to the point where BRs werent the end all be all in most matches. Less BR duels, more weapon variety.
If this is in reference to Halo 2, that game had horrible weapon balance that made the BR and other precision weapons pretty much the only usable weapons. It’s not specifically the fault of the BR, it’s just that other weapons like the Magnum and SMG are practically worthless by comparison.
It’s not like 343 can tweak the weapons to be more balanced either, that would be changing Halo 2 and go against their vision of “preserving the experience”.
There’s a thread the complete opposite of this I can see both viewpoints, BR starts kinda gives everyone a fighting chance. SMG starts once the power weapons and BRs are contolled by one team, it’s game over.

uhhh Brs were just as dominant in 3 as they are in 2. Both games have the same weapons basically

Exactly. Ascension SMG starts if the 9other team gets the sni9pers and you keep spawnming on Banshee you are screwed over and over again HARD long time no breaks just constant rape

Not exactly true. The Halo 2 BR was absolutely pinpoint accurate before you take into account the generous amount of aim assistance. Halo 3 turned the aim assist back a bit and make the BR less accurate overall where the second and third shots might not strike dead center. Add to that the much improved SMGs and newly returned Assault Rifle it wasn’t the undisputed king weapon anymore. Still good yes without a doubt, but not to the point where you shouldn’t bother with other guns.

LMAO Are you saying that the SMG and AR stand a chance against the BR in Halo 3? See you just proved yourself wrong.
In Halo 3 you don’t want to touch the AR or the SMG VS the BR and in Halo 2 you don’t want to touch the SMG. It is the same exact scenario.

In Halo 2, no the SMG along with many of the other guns are pretty much crap that takes up space.
Halo 3 they were better. You couldn’t outshoot the BR at range no, but at closer ranges it was no longer a guaranteed BR win.
