You’ll be matched with people of your own skill level, they said. You’ll have fun and be challenged, they said.
Too bad they never told us that, every friggen game, we would go -10 with the rest of our teammates as the enemies have K/D ratios of 5.0+. I wish 343i were a bit more competent sometimes…

1.2 with 50%. Statistically this still indicates the system is matching you properly over time. Not sure what more you can expect from it especially when you’re playing solo.
I see you’re on a REALLY brutal loss streak, but I’m champion rank and still have those sometimes. It’s just part of the game.
There just needs to be party restricted match making in place, and most of those steam roll problems should go away. You cannot play Arena if you don’t have a team to go in it with, since going solo is just asking for you to get pub stomped on.

Finally a decent idea.
Yes, there should be a strong preference to match parties with parties and solos with solos. Previous games did this.
The biggest issue with matchmaking is that solo players get matched against full teams way too much, I don’t know how 343 went back from other halo games

And what about those of us who don’t have friends to play with 90% of the time? We’re just restricted to not playing the game?

http://www.halolfg.com/ But yes, if your plan is to win games and rank up you don’t play Arena solo. Or you play FFA (which is awful right now).
That’s a pretty piss-poor solution, restricting non-partied players from playing altogether.
The real solution would be to match equivalent mixed parties:
A party of 3 and one individual match against another party of three and one individual.
A party of two and two individuals match against another party of two and two individuals.
Two parties of two match against another two parties of two.
That would work. It would essentially solve the problem.

It’s not a restriction, it’s a preference.
Out of all available players the system would prefer matching 4s with 4s. But if a match isn’t found within a certain time period then it expands to match vs 3s, then 2s.

Party restricted match making means pairing up a team of 4 with another team of 4, a team of 2 with other teams of 2, solo players with other solo players, etc. It isn’t saying that solo players should not be able to play Arena without a team.
Right now, Arena has a nasty habit of pairing up solo players against full parties, which makes it no fun for the solo player. It has gotten so bad, that you really should avoid Arena solo if you want to have any sort of chance at winning some matches.

Oooohhhh… Then yeah, that sounds like a brilliant solution! I don’t see why they wouldn’t try to implement that. Everybody would be happy that way, no?
I’m about 1.5 K/D with a 50% win rate, as far as a I can see it’s pretty balanced, I’m an above average player and yet still get put into matches that challenge me.

Probably one disadvantage would be longer match making times, which some people may dislike. However, the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages in my opinion.
