This has been on my mind allot lately and thought I would put it out there for you all to see.
There has been COUNTLESS occurrences where I run into immature players running around getting countless kills and “T-Bagging” everybody they killed, followed by unsportsmanlike language in the chat.
Halo is one of the few games out there that requires legitimate skill to play. It isn’t COD. Halo players who really care about the game DON’T do that. Its the little kids who don’t leave their Xbox for five seconds of the day just to make other players time in the Halo community crap and not fun.
I do my best to promote a fun and enjoyable time for all of the players I encounter. For example, I was playing a game of big team battle and there was one kid who was talking bad about everybody in the game, even those on his team. In response I messaged all of the players except the one. I messaged them saying put down the controller and NOBODY moved…NOBODY shot. The player soon realized this and straight up apologized to everybody for being immature and mean.
In the end it was a great game. It was close, and the other team won, but at least we all had fun playing the game we have come to adore.
I am trying to promote all of you to do the same and attempt to rid the Halo community of those people.
We are among the Elite gamers…So lets act like it.
For the few good people you run into during your time in matchmaking you should send them a friend request and party up in order to avoid this kind of thing from happening.
Remember, don’t blame randoms when you can play with a party. It is your responsibility to ensure your own enjoyment.
Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done. When a game becomes popular, immature pre-teens flock to it (Just look at COD!). This also can stop adults from playing the game. Whenever I run into people like that I just use the avoid button.
For example, When I run into a person who uses AL as a “Save me!” button. I throw a grenade at them so they get the rejection medal and then look in the post game stats for the player who has it and avoid them for “Lack of skill”. Trash talking I also avoid as well along with betraying.
Awesome thing about Halo is that your gameplay does all the talking.
Anyone who says anything negative or rude to other players I make sure gets dominated the entire match. And believe me, they don’t say anything during the game or after the game.
It’s a beautiful thing really. When a loser understands and really feels that he is a loser.
I too have noticed the scourge of random teabagging and stuff. Just kids bagging you everytime after a normal kill. The -Yoink!- used to be a special occasion reserved for only the funniest times, now it literally means nothing anymore. I doesnt really annoy me…well i suppose it does actually :(.
Yes OP, sportsmanship is dead. It a lot worse now than back in halo 2, let me tell you. Or maybe i am suffering from the nostalgias.

Nope. At least back then they thanked for you for a good game after bagging your dome. They bothered to position themselves over your dome back then too.
My doubles buddy and I have started to focus on the baggers in game. Ignoring all else in our efforts to keep them in the respawn screen. The post game reactions are better than any we could get talking trash, so we’ll keep at it…
Honestly, sometimes its just fun to be an immature little prat. I like tbagging people. Especially if it gets them mad. Then it goes from being fun to hilarious. I think people need to lighten up and get a sense of humor.
I personally don’t mind that at all because that gives me more motivation to get better than that person so I can kill and T-bag him. Now for the verbal abuse I don’t think that is right at all but overall I think that the sense of competitiveness is good for the community. It drives us to get better as players and to come closer together and learn from one another. There are some that don’t want to get better and that is why I wish there was a social playlist. Seeing as how you were in BTB then there are 90% of them just want to screw around and get in vehicles and do circles.
Valkyrie, I wish everyone was like you, I agree 100%. I also message and talk with teammates, and remind them they can post a review to avoid these people, and also report those with mods. I would be happy to lose to someone like you with character, than the trash mouthed tea baggers. Keep up your honor!
If you like being immature, that should wake you up to the fact that your are sociopathic, and never understood that just because you were the center of mommy’s universe, doesn’t mean that when you grew up that you were special to the rest of us, and that we are at your beck and call for your amusement, without any sense of being part of society in which you need to respect the fact that we paid money to play, and not to waste time with narcissistic people.
Yeah, there are two many immature players out there, same issue with some players who are selfish when it comes to power weapons(referring to those who feel the need to carry two). Too many t-baggers who feel the inclination to -Yoink!- on the corpse of a player who was victim to a mass team shoot.
If only the mature and respectful players could rub off on all these people and give us a better game experience. Dare I say, spread the honor.
In multiplayer though, I always remember the ones who are considerate and use the t-bag as a means of saying ‘enjoy’ to a team mate. Invasion slayer and some guy picked up both the rocket and spartan laser drop, so i was a little disappointed. Then i suddenly find the laser at my feet, the teammate t-bags and then runs off to do his thing. I hope to see more like that in the future.

Well done Valkyrie.
Genuine sportsmanship, class and decency have nothing to do with competitive drive, level of ability or desire to have fun.
Leading by example is the right place to start. I have a great many faults but, like you, try to be mature, friendly and respectful. I can’t control how others behave, but I do control how I conduct myself.
Beyond taking personal responsibility, I’d like to see 343 go out of its way to encourage and promote good sportsmanship in matchmaking. What better way to set Halo above the pack than to set a higher standard?

Wow. Hyperbole much? So, if I or anyone else likes to virtual tbag people or “betray” you for a nonexistent weapon in a video game that makes them, or me, a “sociopath”? I think someone may need to take some time off from gaming. It seems like you’re placing a little too much importance on something as trivial as what goes on on XBOX Live. And, the way I see it, if you don’t like when someone tbags you, get better. That way, you don’t die and then you won’t have to worry about getting tbagged.
