Matchmaking help needed!!!

I just recently purchased the Star Wars console and got everything moved over from previous console. Went in to play Halo Reach, which is the only game I play online, and starting having internet issues. The game would act like it was loading but would all the sudden drop before game play could even begin. This happened a few times and I got mad and shut the game off. The next day went in to see if the same thing would happen, when an message came up saying that I had dropped too many games recently and that I would not be able to start matchmaking. Was not sure what this meant so I called Xbox to see what was going on. They told me that I had been banned from matchmaking. Not sure what was all going on with the internet but I contacted them and was told that a fiber optic cable had been cut around the time I was trying to play. How do I fix this so I can go back to matchmaking?

ALSO WHEN TALKING TO XBOX THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO GO TO BUNGIE.NET AND POST TO THEIR FORUM FOR HELP. HOWEVER, BUNGIE.NET HAS POSTED THAT AS OF 3/31/2012 THEY ARE NO LONGER HELPING WITH GAMING ISSUE AND LIST HALO.XBOX.COM AS THE SITE TO GO.
So here I am and I hope someone can help me.

The ban is temporary and is applied if a player quits or disconnects too many times.

IIRC you should be on “quit probation”: you can enter Matchmaking, but every time you quit or disconnect, you’ll be locked out of Matchmaking for ten or so minutes. It’ll last until the probation ends – I think that’s usually a week, though it could be extended if you quit too many times before it ends.

As for getting help with it, the system is fully automated. AFAIK there’s no human oversight, so even if you have a good reason for disconnecting (and one that is beyond your control), I do not think that you’ll get the probation or bans overturned.
