So how will matchmaking work in halo 4?

It’s still a work in progress, But i’m pretty sure all we know so far is that there will be a join in progress system.

Uhm I think it was in some war games video, but I don’t think it will be as broken as CoD’s… at least I hope, I’m pretty sure they are going to put a point of which no one can join so you don’t get thrown in a unfair game… I think

Yah I liked it because it made it feel like a solid and set game instead of a server like feeling with people joining and quitting like CoD and other games feel like. But it also caused some problems with de-rankers, host-booters, rage-quitters and such

It’ll only be in a small amount of playlists, the rest of matchmaking will be pretty similar to previous Halo’s matchmaking.
There’s also a new gametype called ‘Infinity Slayer’. A new twist on the traditional Slayer experience that now allows Spartans to earn points during the course of a match which can eventually be leveraged to call in ordnance from overhead. Ordnance drops within Infinity Slayer consist of three selectable but randomly generated weapons or power-ups, the latter which can alter the Spartans speed, shielding, or ability to issue damage.
We don’t know anything about the playlists, as of yet.

Game Informer when they got the first sneak peak.
Some playlists will use it. Others won’t. What those playlists are will be determined as we get closer to release.
I hope that the usually playlist wont have it, like team slayer and so on.

The Ranked playlist will most likely not have join mid games in it, simply because it’s ranked.
