Matchmaking/Gameer Dropouts

Hello Spartans,

i want to start by saying i live this game and the pros far outwat the cons. But there is one thing (other than the radar) that is annoying

I believe they have got the maps and gamemodes pretty much spot on with a couple of exceptions, which isnt too bad for a new game (think Destiny). Sometimes you do run into a matchmaking game and it is completely one sided, and the doninating team are obviously higher skilled than the rank system allows…but i have come to terms with this.

The problem i am having is that you load up a game, connect to the lobby, launch, drop in and BAM…you only have 3 players on a tram. Now this is probably due to a dosconnect or back out. But due to the intense nature of the game, the finely tuned balance of a 4v4 battle that could be massively onesided anyway due to the rank system…you are now forced to see out what is more than likely going to be a humiliating waste of time loss that now effects your CSR and stats.

Anyone else have these complaints??

I agree with this wholeheartedly. It’s not as bad on gametypes like SWAT and Breakout where a skilled player can more than compensate for one person who’s missing, but in Objective and Slayer it hurts. It hurts a lot. I think the biggest issue is the fact that Halo 5 has no penalty for drop outs - if you quit, you don’t take a hit to your rank at all, and that had stopped a LOT of people from doing it in previous games. In Halo 5, though? The moment you start losing a match you can drop out, wait a bit to avoid the ban (or deal with said ban), then hop right back in and keep repeating it until you get a winning game to boost your rank.

Needs to be a vote surrender or something so the team that’s effected by the drop won’t be penalized.
