Matchmaking for breakout is a joke.

Clocked around 100 games now on breakout and I cannot get out of silver. In fact I would say I’m about ready to drop into bronze for the first time.
I am gold or plat in all other game modes but breakout is not a game mode you can get by on skills alone, you need a good team also.

4 out of every 5 games I am the top ranked player on my team. Almost every game I have a guy on my team that gets 0 kills.
1 in every 5 games I get an idler or quitter.
At first I was getting mad at the quality of my team, but then I thought its not their fault. The system should be recognizing I’m better than these guys and finding me some good players to play with!

Ranking up or down based on wins alone is not fair. I cant tell you how frustrating it is to have spent 10 hours in this game mode playing good halo only be rewarded by playing with terrible players that I can not carry. The game needs to start recognizing who the good losing players are.

Anyone feel the same way?

It’s a team playlist, and one that relies heavily on good teamwork.
Unforunately breakout is one where you can’t stand out heavily on K/D so you rely on W/L.
Best thing I can suggest is party up with a good group and work together.

I understand that but if that’s the case you are basically saying unless you have a fire team you are screwed. Why not either come up with a better way of recognizing skill or separate fire teams and randoms in the player pool.

If the game heavily relies on teamwork then yeah, you’re screwed unless you have a fireteam.
The game already put you together with people that are the same rank. They’re not pitting you against a team of oryx/champions lol…if a guy suck horribly on your team, that’s just bad luck on your end. That guy could easily be on the other team. This is called the perils of playing with randoms.

They did it right this time around focusing on wins instead of KD etc. You can camp all day, power weapon hog and not play objective and farm KD in all the previous renditions of halo but this one requires you to WIN, which is ultimately the objective. Sorry that you got teamed up with poor players :frowning: but think of it this way…in the long run…it’ll all equalize…the poor players will stay low rank…sure they can get carried but there are those so heavy that can’t be  The game is still young…I’ve played against bronzes that are clearly diamonds and played platinum that gets destroyed by my bronze -Yoink-…

I feel ya, i’m 100 games in too at this point and it is impossible for me to escape platinum. I understand it is a team heavy playlist, but a group of plats should have had a bit more awareness to understand team mates in a firefight, or pinpoint the enemy from a team mates death location. Instead half the time I get people waiting at spawn hoping that the enemy will line up for them, or just straight out leaving. 100 games in and I’m still addicted to playing breakout, there just needs to be people more willing to work as a team. I didn’t get to plat by thinking of just myself.

You know what, your points are valid in a way. If ranks would never reset ever then I would suck it up and wait for the long haul (because damn the way its set up it would take so long to find your true skill). However the plan is to reset ranks every few months. This absolutely sucks because If after 100 games I am nowhere near being correctly ranked then its very possible I could be reset before I get close to being ranked properly.
