I believe that the quit ban should be completely removed from all and any Halo matchmaking… I find it -Yoink- that 343 and bungie think its cool to ban you from matchmaking, and further piss you off by banning you for it. Its pointless, and I guarantee i has cost people controllers, systems, and possibly even a new T.V. I can say this, banning has made me put over $400 into new XBOX accessories because the ban itself pissed me off to a boiling rage. SO 343 CONSIDER THIS: NO ONE IN HALO HISTORY HAS GOT ANY OUT OF BEING BANNED EXCEPT ANGER AND WAY TO MUCH TIME WASTED IN CUSTOM GAMES!! NO ONE WANTS TO SEE THEY HAVE BEEN BANNED FOR GETTING PISSED AND QUITTING, IT ONLY PISSES THEM OFF MORE!!! So do us and yourself a favor, remove it from REACH, and don’t put it into HALO 4. Because I guarantee you NO ONE IS GOING TO DEAL WITH IT WELL!!
The quit ban will not affect you if you don’t quit a lot. For the two years of Reach that I’ve played, I’ve only gotten the quit ban once. I can tell you ave anger issues and you probably rage quit a ton. No doubt you are NOT a fun person to play with. When you quit out of team games, you ruin the experience of your team who you let down. Sorry, I have zero sympathy for you. Use that 10 minute ban to calm the -Yoink- down.
Don’t quit so often and you won’t be banned. I have only been quit banned once ever.
I’ve never been quit banned, you’ve REALLY got to be doing something wrong if you think the quit ban is excessive.
You don’t get perma-banned by quitting… You get perma-banned for hacking among other things.

So they banned you from matchmaking, and then ban you because you’re banned from matchmaking? Umm… ok.
If the quit ban wasn’t there, people’d quit SO often.
If you accidentally betray a lot, everyone on your team quits or get disconnected often, then just wait ten minutes and do something else like post on the forums. 
I have only gotten banned once, even with my network issues, where I lost conection (and said that I won the game) like three times every day. And yet, only once I have get banned.
Still, I have the warning of not quitting almost always… =/

I agree 100% and it makes no sense because the banning system has flaws. You get temp. banned when you get lagged out or host booted. Get rid of the flawed temp. banning system.

There is no way for any banning system to tell the difference between intentional quits and lagging out. Same way that the betrayal system can’t gauge the difference between accidental and intentional betrayals.

It shouldn’t be a problem unless this happens repeatedly, though. You just might be having a bad streak of hosts, but more often than not, you won’t get banned for lagging out of a game a couple of times.
I can name quite a few things I would change before the quit ban…
I’ve been banned before. Now everytime i see the warning that if i quit another game i will be banned i stay and finish them. If it wasn’t there alot of people would quit everytime.

Yep. This says it all.
Being a former match quitter (I had a temper, but realised my stupidity) I know what you mean.
But look at it from your teammates point of veiw. When you quit out of matches, you immediatly leave your teammates open and at a disadvantage. That is further hightened because one of your other teammates will quit as well, leading to an immense spawnkill. That just leads to no fun and immense anger on your teammates part.
I played a match on MLG sanc the other day where I my entire team quit out on me, but I stayed in the match anyway. Now, had at least one of my team stayed, we would have one. Singlehandedly and in a four on one, I got (I think) 26 kills. Now, the end score was 32-49, alone. Had one member of my team been there we could have won.
Now, remember that just because something looks bad doesnt mean you’ll lose. I was four kills behind them for a majority of the match and they only got smart enough to group me near the end.
Just remember how angry you get when your team quits when you have a good game. It pisses you off doenst it.
We play the game to have fun, even games when you’re losing can still be fun. Don’t take the fun away from other people.
I feel your pain. Although 70% of the time i got banned it wasn’t because I quit but merely because my internet sucks and kicks me off a few times. the BOOOM Banned 
You should be banned. I’m tired of quitters, and I wish the Quit Ban was even harsher.
Yeah it is a stupid system. In fact, i’ve just been temp-banned for quitting a game on Hemorrhage because my team were stupid. I’ve played about 5 games (3 of those on Hemorrhage, that was the first i’d quit and the last time i played was a few days ago.
Most of my quits come down to the fact that i cannot bear to play Hemorrhage and it gets voted in so often.
You can argue ‘don’t quit so often, derp!’ all you want, but it is a -Yoink- mechanic. Other games work perfectly fine when players quit by auto-balancing teams and letting new players join a game in progress.
Yeah, the ban is kind of stupid, albeit, it rarley seems to be enforced.What are you supposed to do when players intentionally betray you for a weapon, or act like a little kid if you get a weapon first and start shooting or grenading you? I have zero tolerance for that crap, I will betray them right away if they pull that crap or go after a fellow teammate.
I mean, really, I dont want to be on their Team anyways if theyre a bad teamate like that, so get it over with early and move on.
And when you play a clan of Inheritors and you know half your team will quit, why bother? Quit and move on.
