I recently re-got Halo Reach and renewed some gold.
Played a few matches last night, all well and perfect. The game types seem to be less in number than they were a few years ago, but snipers is still there so <3
But now I can’t seem to connect to a game, no matter the game type. Surely it shows me as online authorized and connected, since it’s even letting my select a game type instead of saying offline.
Everything seems fine, but Start Matchmaking is greyed out, and above all selections it says “Unable to reteive information from xbox live.”
Is matchmaking down? Or maybe I messed something up? Though I can’t say any settings or the like have changed since it was working.

Either it’s server maintenance, or your disk is scratched. If you have a digital copy, I think it’s safe to say MP is down because of work being done on the servers.

The servers go down temporarily every month or so. During this period, you won’t be able to play matchmaking and your armour and rank will appear to have reset; rest assured this only lasts for a few hours. If you’re bored, I suggest building something in Forge or playing something else.
Generally just server maintenance.
