Ok, so I’m playing with my friend yesterday, and he gets me booted twice, out of about 15 games, and I get the warning that if I leave again, I will be banned.
Then, the next day, I log on, and get the message DURING A GAME (which got me killed FYI). I’m playing alone, play about 10-15 more games, if not more, then I’m really bored with the current game cause they were all camping with vehicles, so I quit. Then what happens? I get banned.
Why is my console ALWAYS on probation now it seems, how can I fix it, and why are the messages showing up in game a lot?
This is very annoying bungie. It makes it impossible for me to quit games, even if I have a very good reason to.
Barring having to go to the hospital, there is no acceptable excuse for quitting games. It’s why the quit ban exists.
There are good reasons. Like what I described above. The point of the game is to have fun. And when it is no longer fun, you should have the right to quit without being banned, especially after playing so many other games through to the end.
Example earlier today: I was lagging like hell because of one player’s poor connection. So since I was on probation, I had to hide and just avoid the game and wait instead of being able to quit and play a real game. The lag was so bad, it took me 3 minutes just to get to a safe spot. People were jumping everywhere, randomly dieing, etc.
First of all, 343 is in charge of Halo now, not Bungie. Second, if it weren’t for the quit ban, people would have no reason not to quit, so people would probably be quitting even more games. I’m fine with everything about the quit bans except the probation warning showing up during a game. That makes no sense and needs to be fixed. It only needs to warn you once per day, not every game. Also, it should just be in the menu and not during the game. Other than that, I see no problem with it.
I find it unneccessary that they ever added it in the first place. I had people quitting less in Halo 3 than in Reach, and there’s no quit ban for that. Even with filtering out the poeple who quit by doing this, there are still plenty to mess up almost every game. This doesn’t solve anything, but only hinders those who make mistakes or have friends that suck.
I mean, yes, VERY FEW would keep quitting for no reason, but most do not. Maybe even make it so that only betrayal boots or at least two consecutive quits count towards probation.
