Matchmade Games & Host Connection Transfer

Without a doubt, the most irritating part about matchmaking is when the host quits or disconnects, everyone in the game is disconnected. Whenever I see a black screen and it says something like “picking the host with the best connection”, I know we’re all screwed. Everyone is kicked back to the MCC lobby screen and the “return to matchmaking” countdown starts, so you’d think that the game just registered the match as completed. NOPE! It counts as quitting the match, FOR EVERYONE.

I don’t know why this is still an issue, but I’ve had it happen multiple times in social and ranked playlists. The worst part is that since it counts as leaving mid-match, it can result in a temporary ban! Why should I get banned for the host leaving?!

This needs to be fixed, and while it’s being fixed, the game needs to distinguish between one person leaving/losing connection to the game and everyone getting disconnected at once. More importantly, how is there not already something in place to transfer host connection in the event that the host disconnects?

I know I can file a support ticket, but I’m sure hundreds of other people have already filed one.

Unless it’s listed on the known issues list, it’s always better to report bugs you find even if you think someone else has already reported. Multiple reports can be useful in tracking bugs
