Matching like minded voters

I have often come to these forums to find countless threads regarding which is better, DMR/BR starts or AR starts. Often these threads result in a flame war over which is better and the truth is both have their merits. However, that is not what this thread is a about. This thread is about the idea of matching like minded voters so people that prefer AR starts, NEVER match people who prefer DMR/BR starts and vice versa.

Thoughts?

That’s if Halo 4 will even use the voting system.

Sometimes I’m in the mood for AR starts because of a certain map, and sometimes not. Not sure how it would decide who is who for people who like to switch a lot

I am assuming that Halo 4 will have a voting system equal to if not greater than what we have in Halo: Reach.

Well, it would be relatively simple for people who like to switch a lot. Let’s assume that players A, B and C have all played 100 games of Halo 4’s Team Slayer playlist. Player A voted for AR starts in 90 percent of their games, player B voted for DMR/BR starts in 90 percent of their games and player C had a 50-50 split.

Based off what these players have voted it is obvious that player A prefers AR starts, in games that this player didn’t vote AR starts it might have been due to lack of options. A similar thing applies to player B except with DMR/BR starts. However it appears that player C tends to like playing both gametypes and has ended up with a 50-50 split. So when this player is searching the game could choose to put this player with either group, whether it be AR starts or DMR/BR starts.

I will admit that this system isn’t fool proof but then, there aren’t many systems that are. The idea is to simply prevent people from playing something that they do not enjoy and this will also reduce quitting.

I’d rather have AR starts. Most maps have an abundance of weapons (precision weapons being apart of them) and I don’t always feel like getting crossed mapped by a DMR/BR while walking to a vehicle “for example”. Bloom or no bloom, for weapons that don’t cause massive explosions I’d consider them overpowered. Especially when you can beat an AR at close range with them.

So you’re pretty much looking for a good players matching with good players and bad players matching with bad players type of deal.

That’s fine. Perfectly fine by me. It’s easily solved by a 1-50 system.
