Matching foreigners 99% of the time. Help.

I live in California and try to play in the afternoon a few games after work. All I ever really match are people from Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela ect. The only communication I have with other players is in another language that I can’t read lol. I don’t get why I never match people that live in America. The connections are always so bad. I can’t even really play anymore. I’ve been sending in tickets for 2 years now and haven’t gotten any help. It sucks playing this game for so long and not being able to be social because I’m the odd American out. I get so much crap from being the only one from America that speaks English. Any help is appreciated thanks.

The only thing I can suggest that might help your situation is joining a good Spartan Company or putting out an LFG (Looking-For-Group) on Xbox Live. It sounds like maybe your location puts you with alot of foreigners, plus there are alot of non-Americans on Halo 5 nowadays since the greater majority of North Americans have switched over to MCC. So yeah, clan up and you’ll never be lonely.

Have you tried setting your search preference to Focused?

Welcome to the the club

To be fair there is a huge Latam population in Halo 5. I live in Houston so I match them quite frequently as well but for regular matchmaking you don’t really need verbal communication.

And if you can’t understand them, how do you know they are giving you crap?

Must not have been there in the Reach days where matching with someone from Mexico meant you had no chance because they always got host.

Also, that’s some good looking armor you’ve got there

I also live in California. It’s really common to face people from Mexico. Even with team mates in CA as well. For me it’s just the stability of the match that’s unplayable sometimes. Searching focused doesn’t seem to do anything. It could just be due to population at search times. I’m mainly on afternoons and nights experiencing it.

I’m from Seattle if you want a shooting buddy

Yep. Expanded, Balanced, and Focused… Seems like on focused is nothing but foreign people on balanced I might get lucky and get someone in the US. I just feel so delayed in game with foreign people that I have no chance to shoot before I’m already dead. Laggy and super slow. Sucks.

-Yoink- and whitegirl are usually in the messages lol or sometimes mixed in the game when they’re speaking or yelling lol.

Been playing Halo for over 12 years. Played Reach swat nearly every day for 8 years. Yeah they definitely don’t die lol.

I wouldn’t mind if it only happened every once in awhile but it is every game for me. Everyone teleports or jerks back and forth its hard to aim lol. Ive upgraded everything and called my isp and have done everything I could think of to fix the problem that could be on my end but everything works fine. The games are just terrible and I’m so slow. Like heavy aim in every game… So frustrating…

Halo is meant to be played from players around the world regardless. Ping may be a big factor. Or perhaps personal aim sensitivity and look acceleration comes into play.

I know what you mean. I have a bunch of clips of getting blank shots, blank melee, teleporting players etc. 1 match I’ll have 60% accuracy, the next I’m as low as 40%.

When I lived in San Diego It was worse. Playing alone is just disastrous in an of itself since halo 5 is probably the most fun yet frustrating halo out of them all for me. You definitely should team up with people in the states If you can.

Well you do have “whitegirl” as your username…I bet if you changed it you’d cut out 99% of racial/misogynistic comments. $10 for a GT change is a deal compared to submitting tickets for two years.

Honestly the best move is spartan company with a discord!

What? Putting personal information on display in a place such as Xbox Live is asking for ridicule. Or the internet in general. Just look at the whole “rotating PogChamp emote” debacle on Twitch. People are getting harassed (including death threats) when their picture is temporarily put in the spotlight as an emote. I’m not the one doing it, just stating general demographic attributes.

I don’t give two craps about the comments I just wish I could understand call outs and reciprocate. I love my gt and definitely not changing it. I just wish language wasn’t a barrier. I can’t convey to them that I’m having terrible connection issues lol. That’s it. Being white and a female shouldn’t matter at all. Period…

Well of course… I just wish I wasn’t the only one from America and speaking english 99% of the time. Kind of crappy lol. Language and connection is the main issue I have obviously.
