Match xp problem

I think top performers in objective modes deserve to be rewarded for putting in more effort to help the team. People who pretend that every game type in Quick Play is Slayer don’t deserve as much XP, considering all they’re trying to do is pad their KDR. Players at the top of the leaderboard should be able to feel like their hard work has paid off. The changes proposed here are too gracious, imo.

If we accept that the best metric for individual performance is KPM…

Then the best way to even the playing field is to normalise the game time for objective players.

Say the game goes for 10 minutes and someone ignores the ball for the whole time and gets 15 kills - their KPM is 15/10 = 1.5

And then if we have someone who has to sacrifice their game a bit to hold the ball - then that time is taken off their KPM clock. So if they held the ball for four minutes, then then they only need nine kills for the same KPM, 9/6 = 1.5

If you scoring metric is instead something like KD (yuck) then you could help the objective player out by not counting deaths while holding the objective.

This would’ve been a perfect subject to bring up to Josh Menke. 343i needs to rehire this man.
