Match xp problem

hes comparing top 50% to my top 75% idea. Theyre both the same system. But I expressed it as “bottom 25% should not get xp” (its the same as top 75% should get xp) and he assumed its penalizing last players more than top 50%. If anything top 50% is punishing last players more and that is the whole point of this thread.

Are you talking specifically about the xp for the individual performance on the team? It almost sounds like you are saying the bottom player on the winning team should also not get the win xp.

i dont think ive ever read a halo waypoint profile to learn a pronoun.

xp for everything else is fine.

Well, I’m not sure I have a strong opinion on top 50% vs top 75%.

The more I think about this system the more worried I am that it could further pit teammates against each other. There is already an unhealthy fixation on KD and “stealing kills.” I’m concerned about the toxicity that will come over a measly 50xp.

Better players and the better team should always get the best rewards. If you are the worst performing player & lesser team, you still get rewards, just not the best ones. Let’s see how the match xp beta goes.

Not even the previous Halo game’s rewaeding systems were cheap. Everything then was a grind to the best stuff as it is still now in Infinite. The only different in pacing was always how much harder you worked for it. Infinite is no less of an excuse to handicap old and new players.

While you see " soon more tryhards in the game", I see an opportunity for players to get overall better. Maybe no more players running past power weapons, switching out their AR, and learning how to drive a warthog.

I have no issues with playing with better players. But there are plenty of people who don’t want to take matches even remotely seriously, and if they are forced to play better you will be seeing them screeching on these boards about it in due time.

“Give us XP based on our game performance. No reason to do good in a game if there is no reward for it.”
“OH no don’t reward better players with more XP, why should i try to do good to earn more xp”

hopefully they’ll add on to this xp system with the addition of medals and (if they add them) accommodations like Reach

or hell add stuff you get from achievements like in 3

I would have scrapped the basic “finish the match” reward if it was for me, leave only the reward for winning / top half in your team. People really need to learn how to work together to win.

What is xp used for besides the battle pass? Not being coy either

My issue is why they took so long with a system that is basically just like the match exp system they implemented except you get an added participation reward now.

When it took so long because no single game developer has yet discovered the technology to gain more or less exp based on stuff you do in-game, I was actually expecting to get “match exp” for every kill/assist/medal/objective time.
