Match xp problem

50% would be trying if a team has 4 players of equal skill but thats rarely the case. The worst player on your team could be trying their heart out and still be last no matter how hard they try

This is how things should be. Better players get better rewards. Its an incentive to get better/play better (not goof off or go AFK during the match).

The problem with rewarding poor performance too much is people won’t learn how to play better. Why try when i am going to get a lot of XP anyway?

Before the performance based xp was introduced the fastest way to get XP eas to have a full team then throw games as fast as possible just to get the match complete XP bonus. This is a perverse insentive structure and also allowed people to go AFK and still get the same XP as the guy carrying the team.

The biggest problem in gaming is this “Participation Ribbon Mentality” that everyone seems to have now. Instead we need to be rewarding skill and performance. This is why we also need armors that come from static difficult challenges so we can show off our skill and not a credit system as all that shows is time spent.

i think if youre above 25% then youre probably helping your team. 50% will just turn people off from trying. the rewards need to be spread out a bit with the easier ones worth more because they all add up. xp for completing a match is good because it stops quitting. being above 25% is good because it would stop afk or people chasing challenges. everyone else beyond that is just playing the game because they enjoy it and you get xp for winning.

Yeah? Qnd the rest of tour team does rhe same thing. You act like the game pairs you with bronze and onyx players regularly. If you arent naturally good, youre likely pairs with people tour oevel as well.

If anything, those players are just having a luckier than than you. Nothing f to do woth skill at that point. As other players will have the same luck chance.

im not a pro player but an extra 150xp, assuming you check all the boxes, doesn’t sound like much either way. there’s still other ways to earn xp like per kill or objective point that should be much greater than those little bonus’.

You forget to remember that the max xp to level up is just 1000. If you add in small other details into earning xp, youd likely complete level up once every two matches. This way keeps your flow to a set amount of games per level, with a chance to level up a game or two less depending on how you play.

Which, imo, is flawed due to the fact of the xp level cap.

as toxic as this sounds: my statement to this being an issue is - git gud

but fr I feel there should be other avenues of earning xp. top 50% is the right step forward, but as said prior, xp via medals should be added.

You can’t prevent sweating in mm. People aren’t dogsh34t at games like they were in the past. As long as you’re playing pvp you can’t expect people to play like they’re mindless.

Just people advocating for this should be aware that this will come with side effects. If they start complainning more about tryhards/sweats after this update goes live, they were the ones that asked for it.

People complain about sweats more these days because gaming is a huge hobby these days. So people got better. Of course there’s still a chunk of play once a week type peeps who think they can hop on pvp and kick -Yoink!-, no you’re getting destroyed.

…You shouldn’t be penalized for coming last on a winning team. It’s still a winning team. A team you contributed to. Even if you went 2/10, and your team won by two points? That 2 was yours.

So you know.

The top 50% thing is nice, because you can get equal kills - and less deaths, than the person above you… but because they got more medals or pinged more, they’ll end up higher. Even though they performed functionally the same.

Top 50% + MVP is fair.

Nah, this won’t help. If you git gudder then MM will match you with other gud players. Gold and Onyx players are going to be earning the same total xp, on average, with this system.

i feel like your 2 paragraphs conflict each other.

They don’t, it’s a skill issue.

the first paragraph says you shouldnt be penalized for being last on a winning team. The second paragraph says its ok to give the top 50% extra xp. what im i missing, its impossible to have both.

Not being rewarded is not the same thing as being punished.

hes describing the same thing though. the people who dont get the top 50% are basically last and get nothing

We seriously cannot be complaining about not getting rewards for doing bad. Do not tell me we are that entitled that you feel just being on the same team with victory entitles you to be completely spread out like this.

This kind of system incentivizes you to do better and develop your skill. That’s how its been with shooters all over the player for a decade. All this thread is telling me is you want to be given exp for being bad at the game. You still have optional challenges that reward you bonus exp on top of this. And in case you missed it, those challenges can be done in any playlist now.

Its quite literally a skill issue now.

If you are on the winning team, you get 50xp regardless of your individual performance. If you perform well on your team (top 50%) then you get 50xp regardless of win/lose.

If you perform bad and lose, then you still get your participation xp. These two players in every arena match are not punished, they just aren’t rewarded. There is a difference.
