I have played about 20 BTB matches in the last 24 hours. In that mix, I have played 3 Slayer Matches and 2 CTF matches. Everything else has been Stronghold! The most classic BTB games I have played outside of a custom game were always CTF, Slayer, and Assault. KOTH never was a popular BTB Gametype, Stronghold is simply the successor to that it seems.
I don’t mind playing a map control game type, but i DO NOT want to play it 75% of the time. Aside from that, the map balance is decent. I think the Scorpion on Recurve is a bit overpowered, but not too difficult to take out. Guillotine is by far my favorite map out of the 4 new ones and it also is the least played.
Anyways, i have added a short poll. Is it just me, or is Stronghold way to heavily weighted? I simply do not enjoy that game type.
you should have given another option of Keep all three with less emphasis on slayer. I say this because i personally enjoy Objective game-types Other than just simply killing the other team. I do miss Assault, Neutral Bomb, 1 flag CTF, Multi Team CTF, Flag wars, VIP. all these game types. I LOVE BTB but what ever happened to having a sniper for both sides a tank for both sides and making it equal for both teams to succeed rather than putting one tank in the middle of the map!

I like objective also. But w/ BIg team, Slayer is a classic. It is hard to beat 1 flag though.
Last night I ran BTB with my clan for about two hours and only got 2 CTF games and 1 Slayer game again. It is pathetic how heavily weighted Strongholds is.
I’d like to see these game types offered under BTB and for these maps.

That is a well thought out list man. Why those gametypes specifically? Regicide wasnt really a fan fave… and having Strongholds AND KOTH in a rotation would be sort of redundant I think.
Strongholds definitely needs to be weighted lower. I actually love the gametype but I just can’t handle it while searching solo in BTB. It requires far more coordination than even capture the flag. Also, I think the placement of the capture points definitely needs to be revisited. I feel like it would be less of a nadefest if the territories were placed in an area that could be controlled by one of the power positions on the map rather than the power position themselves.

I feel that those game types would be conductive to those particular maps and they each offer something different in terms of the game play and strategic tactics.
I’d argue that team Regicide was not only a fan favorite for many people who got an opportunity to play it in Halo 4, but that it’s just a very good slayer-based objective game type; it mixes a bit of the VIP game type strategy with a basic Slayer game type.
Strongholds and KotH are vastly different in how they play despite both being territorial holding objective game types which is why I’d like to see both offered.
Overall, I think this expanded group of game types for the maps helps reduce the playlist’s fatigue factor by offering more diversity and more importantly diversity that fits well with the maps.
I think we need a veto system so we could choose what we want to play. I’m tired of being forced to play CTF and Strongholds all the damn time!! I just want to play slayer like in the good old Halo 3 days.
