For a few short sessions of Regicide with 5 friends, we decided to hose each other with Plasma Pistols. It was an absolute blast watching the little green pellets fly across the screen. We were averaging around 12 to 17 PP kills per game. Now that brings me to this question… is this banable? I mean, you could look at it as boosting, seeing since it’s nearly impossible to get kills with PP under normal circumstances. But you’re dying at the same time.
Nope, it’s grinding and they don’t ban that.
Highly doubt it. After all, loudouts let you choose your weapon, and the plasma pistol is an option. So everyone is just deciding to use it.
When responding to a post about boosting assassinations, “Forum Team” said that “boosting is cheating”… Didn’t expand on that or define what exactly would be considered boosting or if it would lead to a ban. Although specifically going for only assassinations is different than having everyone run around using the PP but otherwise playing normally in my book.
I did a few of those PP sessions and no one was banned. I ended up getting 2/3 of my PP kills though in normal FFA matches because I was tired of waiting for these sessions.
I could be wrong, but I believe something is counted as boosting only if you’re farming kills via afk players or fake accounts. Playing a fair, actual game of Regicide with plasma pistol honor rules isn’t boosting.
Thanks, guys. This is useful information. Now I can hose away to my heart’s content. I may try this method with the other loadout weapons, so we can master the woefully awful Storm Rifle. Recon SURG, here I come.

< You mean like this
Just be prepared for a lot of “How did you get that lightning bolt emblem?” messages.
Oh, I would never replace my beloved Pokeball emblem. I may not even wear the new Recon helmet too much either…I’ve grown quite fond of EOD shadow. It’s just that the PP was one of my biggest obstacles concerning the acquisition of Protector drift (which is what I really care about).
If you guys practice, getting pp kills isn’t the hardest thing ever. I’m on 6/7 on the mastery. I’ve only been trying a few days. It’s a challenge, but kinda fun. I think i’ll master it in another week.

Same here, I’m down to the boltshot, fuel rod, beam rifle, and concussion rifle. Went over a month playing only Regicide/Dominion and not touching the DMR.
It’s definitely not bannable. I’ve done this with friends plenty of times, and I haven’t gotten banned. As long as you are actually playing the game and nobody is AFK, then you’re fine. Good luck with Plasma Pistol Mastery!
LOL I Mastered the PP going into regular Regicide games solo. Even managed to win quite a few games (my personal favorite is when I won on Haven going 30 and 8 with 17 PP kills). Regicide is great for mastering any of the starting weapons (which I did, all of them). Plus it was funny to hear people raging because I killed them over and over with the PP.
