I hope they explore more of the gesh that the librarian gave chief in infinite and hopefully can use some of them he is now therotically the most powerful spartan
Depends on what you mean by special abilities. He gained an immunity to the Composer and (evidently) had his mind linked with that of the Didact. He isn’t likely to have any other special powers beyond that.

Ithe librarian said it contained MANY gifts there are like “super powers”

According to who? The Forerunners themselves did not have super powers in the traditional sense. We aren’t going to see Chief use laser vision, fly, or anything of the sort if the Forerunners weren’t capable of that.
I think expectations for what further effects Chief might experience should be kept in check. He might have more sophisticated access to Forerunner systems, perhaps. Maybe his metabolism or biological functions were improved. Relatively small things.

Not superman super powers but maybe many of the abilities the didact had just not as evolved
Even the Didact lacked special abilities. His constraint fields used to hold Chief in the air was all Forerunner technology, for example.

In the book halo Silentium, I think, Riser was able to scratch a female forerunner bad enough that she bled. The wound closed almost instantly. I dont think this forerunner was wearing any fancy armor at that time if she was I really doubt Riser would have been able to do that. So I think the forerunners have a healing factor. Also the Promethean rate was stated as being far larger, faster and stronger than the other rates. It’s possible Chief may be something of a fusion of A promethean and a Spartan.

I did grant prior to this that certain biological processes may be improved. I cannot ascertain if this event with Riser occurred, though if it happened in Silentium it sounds more like the Librarian meeting the primitive Forerunner female who then bit her to transfer her memory.

No it wasnt that. It might have been that short story that happens right after Halo Silentium. I’m going to look for it and will update if I find it.
Edit: Found it Halo 4 Rebirth. It does state that the Lifeworker was wearing some kind of armor but the Area Riser scratch is stated to have no armor on it. So, maybe it was still the armor that did that.
Quite frankly, considering how much hate that storyline got from the community? Even if 343i planed to transform Chief in some kind of Marvel/Forerunner superhero at some point, I doubt we’ll ever see anything even just slightly related to the Librarian or her gifts in Hi or even future Halo instalments ever again.
…I was going to add “and that’s a big if”, problem is I can actually see 343i doing something stupid like that.

Halo 5’s Storyline got hate. Halo 4 had a few people that didn’t like the campaign but it was the MP that people really hated. Also It seems the OP is talking about The Didacts force grip thing. If that was to be added it would likely be a weapon type not an ability people can just use.

I said storyline. The Librarian storyline in H4 got a lot of hate together with the “let’s punch a nuke and survive it after a QTE” ending, even among many H4 defenders. That doesn’t mean the whole story was hated by the majority of the community though.
Those parts are even the most frequently used scenes when criticising what didn’t worked in Halo 4, even in positive campaign reviews. Not even LNG gave it a full pass and they he loves the campaign! At some point when H4 was still new I thought the Librarian storyline was even more hated than a certain Spartan IV and or lovely leaving meme Del Rio. Time demonstrated that I was wrong, but still! XD
Point is, you can enjoy a story while also being able to criticise a plot that didn’t worked in the very same campaign. And back than the community was really loud and clear about that specific plot. It’s among the reasons why H5 changed direction and why Hi is now a soft reboot. Sorry, a “spirtitual” reboot.
So no, the Librarian gifts won’t make a comeback. Not even as a force-choke weapon.

Your Opinion I guess. LNG hates almost everything that isn’t Bungies Halos I wouldn’t use him as a reference of what everyone or even the majority of people think. Also that’s not what the Librarian gave him as that is an Ability the Didact had in his suit. He didn’t have Super powers just really advanced Tech.

I just said that the Librarian cut-scenes is one of the most cited storylines when critizing H4’s story. My personal opinion has little to do with this fact. From what I can tell what people put in a negative light most of the time are (in order):
- Punching a nuclear bomb and getting tp saved after QTE sequence - Cortana and Chief love-story - Palmer. The whole character. - The Librarian cut-scene and million years old planing - The disrespect the SIV soldiers showcased towards Chief - Del Rio is a (put a prorogative term here)But this are details or secondary plot lines. I can understand people that would agree with some of those points while still loving H4’s story!
And that’s also the reason why I cited LNG in first place. He always defends the H4 campaign story to even obnoxious levels and still admits that the Librarian sequence wasn’t exactly a masterpiece of storytelling, is a really damn good reference to use I would say!
Story asidehe hugely prices its cinematography as well the shot composition btw. Also I only used him because he’s well known and because I didn’t wanted to waste time digging up old waypoint conversations… So it’s more of a factor of believing me or not, but don’t spin it as my opinion please! The only thing I would consider opinionated is the order of those points above!

Ok, so there were some people that didnt like those parts. That’s true. However, in you original post you say, “Quite frankly, considering how much hate that storyline got from the community?” You seem to believe there was a lot or at least enough “hate” directed toward these story point from the community that 343 will no longer utilize them in future Campaigns. That is an opinion. I however, dont believe there was all that much hate for those story points just that the people that hated them were very loud.

Well, yeah. Because it used to be a lot. Where you around on Waypoint, Reddit, the Bungie forums and on YT around the time H4 released? Those points I listened earlier popped up like mushrooms every single week. Even now and than I see them popping up, more among those that hate H4 story overall, I give you that, but it wasn’t as much as a rarity as you might think before H5G came out. Even among many defenders back than! That’s partially also why H5 is what it was: a reaction towards those criticism. Than again, it might have a reactionary trend on the Bungie fan-base of back than too, or just a really loud minority like you put it, but I couldn’t tell you with a straight face that it wasn’t a lot that pointed out that specific example.

I don’t think Halo 5’s story was a reaction to Halo 4’s criticism. Based on What Bonny Ross says in the interview. It seems that they wanted to do for humanity and the Elites what Halo 2 did for the Covenant, however she believes that they probably shouldn’t have done that in a Numbered Halo. Saying that there was an expectation of where we left off on Halo 4 that contrasts with where to where we went in halo 5. She even says that She was happy with Halo 4’s story, happy with Halo 5s Multiplayer, and wants Halo Infinite to put those together. I should also state that I don’t think this means that Infinite will Have a story Just like or even very similar to Halo 4’s, though it might in some ways, and i don’t think the Multiplayer will be just Halo 5’s. I think they will Be Taking what they did right in those games and expanding on it.
a night vision or some other military stuff would be awesome
