From Halo CE, to Halo Reach, Halo players have had the opportunity to look as close to Master Chief as Bungie would allow in multiplayer. However, when 343 took over the production of Halo, they not only changed the armor of Master Chief, they made completely different shoulder pads for players to use in multiplayer in Halos 4 and 5. In Halo 5, even though we can’t have access to Chief’s shoulder pads, 343 gave us the option to wear his scarred helmet. So, should 343 keep the current Mk. 6 armor they have for players now, in Halo 6? Or should they change it so we can look like just like Chief in the upcoming game?
I’m hoping the artwork reverts a lil bit, especially for the Elites.
Go back to how it was. Chief was a tank. Not a gundum.

Umm, I’m not sure you know what a Gundam looks like if you think his new suit looks like one.

If you painted his armor to look like a protagonist Gundam, maybe, but I really don’t see any resemblance between the two. Chief’s Mark VI GEN2 MOD is missing the characteristic V-antenna, face vents (though those aren’t on all of 'em), or the little part that juts out from the chin. And that’s just the helmet.
Also, Gundams (and mobile suits in general) are basically humanoid tanks, so I don’t see what’s so wrong with it…

We should totally get a FAITHFUL recreation of both the classic Mark VI as well as the new Mark VI. Heck, they can even also include the H2A Mark VI as an intermediate option between the old and new as well!
While Chief and Cortana were on the Forward Unto Dawn, Cortana was upgrading and changing Chief’s armor with the nanobots in the suit (yes the MARK Vl(this is only a theory by the way)(not by me) ,and Cortana made what we see now as Chief’s armor. She for some reason left the scar on the right breast plate, but people think it is for the intimidation factor to the Covenant (especially the grunts 'cause, you know). Also when Chief wakes up he says, “You’ve been busy.” while looking at his arms.
Plus,I think the art style should slightly go back. Slightly because the elites have this armor now, the armor should then look slightly like the Bungie version. The grunts should stay the same, but with the methane masks instead of a tube into the nose(eww). The jackals are fine in my opinion and so are hunters. Sangelios should use these new wraiths, but the factions should us the older models.
I’m too tired to go Into detail op so here is what you missed:
-his old suit has a lot of problems with mobility
-bungie even said they made his shoulders too wide and too tall for him to actually move his arms properly to scale of a normal human skeleton
-new shoulders allow full range of movement and don’t clip through the character model like in Halo 1-2-3.
-technically this style of shoulder is seen in Reach since the shoulder pads start at the bicep not the end of the shoulder itself.
-that’s why the halo 4 mark V has lower shoulders than the Campaign mark V from HCEA
please stop suggesting bad art changes.

Security armor has places where the gauntlets and shoulderpads clip is certain poses. Some helmets clip with the neck-areas on certain armors. I’d hate to see how restrictive armor design would be with no clipping at all were allowed.-technically this style of shoulder is seen in Reach since the shoulder pads start at the bicep not the end of the shoulder itself. Reach still had some massive shoulder-choices that came up a good bit, but they did connect lower on the bicep, true.-that’s why the halo 4 mark V has lower shoulders than the Campaign mark V from HCEA Likely true.

I like to sometimes get the challenger armor and make it white and yellow with a green visor to make my spartan look like a Gundam, fun times.

I agree. The older armor styles look better, I could care less if people want them to be more practical or make sense in terms of function.
I’ve recently begun to think of how sad Halo 5 is as a Halo game. Chief’s armor is only one of those letdowns.
While I prefer the classic art style over 343i’s stuff, I really do like Chief’s new Mark VI MOD suit. What I DON’T like, however, is 343i’s Mark VI GEN1. The Mark VI GEN2 looms different with weird proportions, fine. You can simply pass it off as being a modified version based on the original. But the GEN1 version should be exactly like what we see in Halo 2/3, even if it doesn’t “work”. 343i swallowed their pride and gave us proper versions of many GEN1 helmets, now they just have to do the same with the Mark VI set.

Is that Gundam holding a Covenant Carbine?

Now that you mention it, the Victory Gundam’s beam rifle does look kind of like the Type-51/57 Carbine.
The new armor is fine and very characteristic to the Master Chief. there’s no reason to change it again.
Speaking of Shoulder Pads… This has always bothered me.
Why does Master Chief look like this in in-game cutscenes?
and this in CGI he looks like this @ 1:45
His Shoulder Pads have moved… They’re even lower in the end of the game.
The OCD is real.
TBH, I think the current art style is fine.
The new armor looks the best.

Finally, someone that shares the same opinion as me.
