Always wondered, why wasn’t the nano-machine improved MK VI available in REQ packs? Pretty stupid thing to pass up.

Staple armor sets, like Chiefs Mark VI, or Locke’s Hunter set with ONI markings, should be present in the game.
We have the armor set of Emile, for example, but why it’s lacking Chiefs and Lockes, I have no idea.

I know that there are actually very nice looking helmets with color layouts that don’t look awful. I just wanted to make a joke about the Seeker helmet and all of the sets that do have weird colors.
Who knows. It makes it worse that they had to make the mp cannon.

Locke’s armor is in the game its called Hunter (My bad i read it wrong ignore me)

But we dont have his undersuit, nor his ONI markings. We just have the base armor plate meshes combined with awful mismatched secondary color brightness.

this has confused me for a while what was the excuse for chiefs armor changing in 4 even though he was in cryo sleep.
Chiefs old armor looked better anyway.

And yet we can use Locke’s armor? Fred’s? Linda’s? Or Buck’s custom armour built with pieces of his ODST armor integrated? That’s just a BS excuse. The real reason is that 343i wants Master Chief to be unique, which I can understand.
Plus, if we did have Master Chief’s armour in multiplayer, it would probably be covered in terrible white stripes and crap anyway. And don’t forget the coloured undersuits… Just like the Helljumper armour, they would take something incredible and make it took awful. So maybe we’re better off without it…
I hate how people don’t want the players to ‘cosplay’ as certain characters in game. Why give the main characters good armor, then forbid us from ever using a worthwhile version of it not covered in horrendous white lines and mismatched secondary brightness? If thats the case, give story characters crappy armor so I can wear the good stuff unrestricted. 
Chief’s damn olive drab has been forbidden in most Halo games. Why the hell? It’s a common military color, a lot of the UNSC equipment uses olive colors! I don’t even want to use a dark olive drab because the Chief uses it, I want it as a serious military color! Moss is just too saturated like a forest green.

The UNSC has Chief’s current armor, which is a different set from Halo 4, recorded as MJOLNIR Mark VI [GEN2] MOD. That means they likely have data on its design, so I don’t see how his armor couldn’t be reproduced by the Watershed Division, Materials Group, or any other military contractor that designs and manufactures MJOLNIR GEN2 armor, allowing it to be issued by to Spartan-IVs by the Office of Naval Intelligence.
Besides, after Halo 4, he got a new armor set, which was probably ONI-issued anyway.

His Halo 4 armour was unique and personalized by Cortana, yes. But his Halo 5 armour is a different set based off of his Halo 4 set, but updated to new GEN2 standards. So there’s no reason that other Spartans can’t have it.
I made a question like this a while ago. I heard someone made a poll on this and the fans demanded they kept the Mark VI Mod design exclusive to John-117. Not sure what fans were involved in that poll since I hear of people wanting to wear that armor in multiplayer but I guess the fan community changes with each game. That poll and the time I posted it was way before Halo 5 was even mentioned by 343 Industries…Mega Bloks implies a Spartan-IV wore a Mark VI Mod in Fireteam Crimson though, but since they got artistic freedom and 343 not saying anything on it, it’s hard to say if Watershed Division mass produced that variant.

Yeah his Mark VI Mod variant was made by Watershed Division which is a Branch of ONI.
I would rather have master chief mark 5.
The real mark 5.
The best you can do is use Reaper body armor with Mk VI Gen 2 Helm. That’s what I use and I’ve wanted Chiefs armor since H4.
I think we should be able to customize more but back to your question: 343 got lazy and cranked out the cheapest thing they could think of for the most money. IE… Game that needs constant updates and have gamers asking why isn;t this here. A mass survey of questions about what gamers want for the next halo game should go out to all the players and the top lets say 25 should be included.
